I made a reservation online for one night’s stay. At the last minute, “life intervened” and I was unable to stay overnight as planned. I phoned the Inn, didn’t receive an answer and after a few rings, hung up. Assuming that the desk clerk was with a customer, I waited a few minutes, called again, no answer again but this time I waited until the answering machine clicked in. The message on the machine was snotty, rude and totally unwelcoming, informing me that I shouldn’t call, hang up, call again, etc., that hang ups would only cause delays. I left my message that I needed someone to call me to handle a cancellation and that it was for that night. Cancellation policy is that cancellations must be made by 6:00 PM, date of stay to avoid charges for the night. Note that my call was made in the morning hours of my planned night of stay. I received a return call from the inn at 6:30 PM, I was unavailable, no message was left for me, just a HANG UP. I know that I’m just one customer but I have to wonder, do they treat ALL customers in this manner? I have never stayed at this inn, nor will I EVER stay here. There is such a thing as common curtesy and I would suggest that they invest in a little of it. BTW, I did get my cancellation thru in time by going back to the website on which I made it, **********.
