Hotel Masa International

I would have given zero stars if I could. I am still at the hotel whilst writing. The good points: Set meal very good. Room cleaning very good and the ladies are very helpful and polite. Bus stop outside to the main town. Views from hotel are beautiful The Bad points (quite a few) Been here 5 days and the lift has been out of service at least 7 times. This hotel is NOT disability friendly to get to the pool there are 2 flights of stairs. (no lift to the pool even if it’s working) The only 2 umbrellas are broken there is a few very tired looking sun beds available. The pool is approximately 1.8 meters deep at the shallow end. There is a definite attitude from some staff, front of house helpful, one female server I believe she is Brazilian is one of the most unfriendly people I have ever met. Whilst here there has been a conference which took over the restaurant for 2 days we were given a refund, however whilst getting settled around the pool we were told to leave as they wanted to take photos, this we declined to do and after some discussion between us and the organiser we accepted the offer of a free meal at a restaurant outside the complex. This hotel is very tired and could do with a make over, noted the last was 2004. The pool is in disrepair with tiles missing or at the bottom and surrounding area is poor with trip hazards. The hotel appears to cater for Business and conferences rather than holiday makers. The advertising was misleading The beach is accessible but you need to be able bodied. Mainly stone and shingle sloping access.

Avoid avoid, the place is dead ! More life in a graveyard. Terrible food and only do set menu, no wine list when asked . Flat beer in warm glasses. Terrible place 😪 There is nothing fun or entertaining about the place and will never use again !!!!!!

We were here for 6 days, the sun was shining and the views are beautiful, it's in a convenient location, you can walk just up the road to restaurants and bars in about 10 mins. The hotel itself reminds me of something you would see in an old film or 70's series, it's very dated. The rooms are very basic but ok - this is only a 3 star hotel and you get a 3 star hotel and service. We arrived on a Sunday and had a lovely lunch, the food was great, however, when we went for lunch another day we were told that they only did lunchtime food at the weekend. Luckily we found a lovely Italian up the road. We ran out of milk in the room and I went and asked if I could have a couple more (just those little milks you get in a hotel) only to be told that we will get more in the morning when the room is cleaned. (Might have been different with another member of staff maybe?) Because we had a fridge in the room, we went to the local shop and bought our own milk and coffee - I would not have asked for more coffee that's for sure. Sometimes, there was a long wait at the bar even when there was no one else there, it felt like being ignored. I tried a lemon shandy one day and asked for a slice of lemon to go with it and was told that there was already lemon in the drink - so that told me! Cooked breakfast was ok although every day it was the same, the eggs looked a bit dried up. The orange juice was very weak. They had no cereal or cereal bowls, so if you do go and buy your own cereal there is nothing to eat it out of. I have to say though, the choice of fruit was excellent as were the croissants and rolls and to sit by the window with those views, kind of made up for the rest. One afternoon we decided to head for the pool. I went to reception to ask for two towels and was told they had run out. When we went to the pool there were only two people there sunbathing, so I'm not sure how they could run out. It wasn't even busy in the morning. The pool looks nice from the photos but it needs updating. Two children were jumping from the small bridge and the next day there were pieces of concrete that had fallen down being cleared up. The staff on reception were very helpful and polite. We were allowed to have a late stay in our room on the day we left as we had such a late flight, we weren't' charged for this either. To sum up I would say: 1. It needs a full refurb or a big hotel chain to take over spend a lot of money on it. It all looks very tired and old. 2. It's very clean and the ladies were cleaning constantly in the main areas. 3. Some of the staff need a few lessons in customer service but some are lovely as well. 4. The views are outstanding 5. It's in a good location 6. Expect 3 stars because it's no more than that.

Wonderfully located high on a cliff, with stunning views over the Mediterranian. Close to La Mata Beach and a short taxi ride to the center. Nice pool area and nice rooms with balcony. But… Where is the service mindfulness within the staff? We have traveled across the world for half a century and never seen the like… We couldn’t even serve ourselves a straight cup of coffee after checkout, without being charged for it (and lectured by the female waitress in the bar). Unacceptable. But… If you don’t mind staff that have absolutely no freedom of decision of their own), the hotel is nice. For us, there are other hotels in the neighbourhood.

I stayed at Hotel Masa in September 2022 for 1 week for my friends wedding and had an excellent experience! I was very pleased with my room and the location of the hotel! The staff was wonderful, friendly and attentive. The service was good. I loved the location right on La Costa Blanca with wonderful views of the Mediterranean Sea from my room, the dining room and the pool.

Beautiful views, hotel is on a cliff so the Mediterranean is right there to enjoy. The staff were rude and one in particular wanted to charge me for ice despite the fact that I had been buying drinks everyday/evening and the "cooler" in my room was warm. Horrible attitude, maybe it was because I was a foreigner, even though I was speaking to him in Spanish. He must've took a disliking to me. Views are beautiful but due to the animosity towards me I will not return. Horrible staff. It also takes about 20 minutes to get served as there seems to be one person manning the reception, bar and restaurant. Rooms are very dated. Nice pool nice view but if you value good customer service then avoid this hotel.
