Wunderbar, hier an einem Frühlingstag anzukommen. Zur Begrüßung gibt es ein Storchenpaar hoch in einer Baumkrone, Schwalbenschwärme über dem Stausee. Schön ist es hier. Eigentlich möchte man nur stundenlang auf der gemütlichen Terrasse herumtrödeln und die einzigartige Natur genießen.. Dazu das Parfum der Glycinie riechen und Hunderten von Hummeln zusehen. Großes Kompliment an den Gärtner. Die Bepflanzung ist einzigartig und top gepflegt. Es gibt sogar einen kleinen Kräuter-/Gemüsegarten, auch dieser liebevoll angelegt und in Schuss gehalten. Zwei kleine Hunde sausen herum. Die Zimmer sind puristisch modern, haben einen großen Balkon mit schönem Blick auf See und Staumauer. Betten sind groß und komfortabel. Prima Leselampen. I Tüpfelchen ist die hervorragende Küche.

Hervorragend, in jeder Beziehung excellent!! Ein umwerfender Blick auf Landschaft und den See, ein tolles Zimmer und, passend zu Allem, ein Spitzen - Restaurant. Und das alles geleitet von überaus freundlichen Angestellten! D i e Wohlfühloase in himmlischer Stille! Da hat mein Schätzeken Reiseleitung wieder was Schönes ausgesucht!

Offered a superior room with view and then is was the last sided room of the hotel with views for the back garden (not even look after). Not having stayed and being left with apologies from the hotel staff I was later charged my credit card by the owner just saying he was being nice to me.... there is no worth coming there and getting this service and arrogance of the owner. Made a formal complain to recover my money since the owner refuses to accept the decision to leave with the agreement of hotel staff.

We only stayed 1 night, as part of our road trip, with my adult daughter and her boyfriend. We enjoyed the secluded pool area and the heated pool,a very relaxing experience. The bar service was a bit sketchy due to being short staffed, but it didn’t spoil our overall experience. The food was beautiful even if the menu was a bit limited. The grounds were amazing and the rooms were comfortable, with very swish bathrooms. The “kids” enjoyed playing with the dogs and walking in the peaceful surroundings. I loved it!

The quality of the dining experience, with a unique atmosphere outside in the pergola style terrasse, relaxing in one of the comfortable outdoor mattresses on a green lawn facing the lake, great modern rooms made my stay at Vale do Gaio an overall memorable experience.

The hotel is far beyond being professional. They aware that the localisation is beautiful and that should be enough for the guests. We made a complaint about the loose measurements concerning Covid-19, especially during breakfast. However, they just listened and nothing has changed and they became unfriendly with us in the rest of the stay. One day, a person that acted as manager/owner of the place made a barbecue in front of our room. All the smokes and smells were in our terrace and room. I think the hotel has good marketing, they appear in nice journals -that's how we thought could be a nice stay-however, the reality is far being a "boutique hotel". The common areas are smaller than it seems in the photographs. The rooms are nice and comfy but the management of the hotel is unprofessional and nothing make the stay worth it. This place could only be a good option for one day dinner because the food is really good as well as the restaurant workers.

Stayed a few days at this great place and was way above our expectations. Peaceful and quite yet active at the same time. Watersports in the lake, hiking around the area, chilling out by the pool, all with an excellent service and care from their staff. Food was top class with a great variety and great wines to compliment the food. Only negative was the mosquitoes, but they were prepared for this!!

Dos sítios mais incríveis onde já estivemos. Desde a paz e tranquilidade, às vistas de cortar a respiração e a comida que é simplesmente maravilhosa. Saímos de lá com vontade de voltar rapidamente. O Vasco e todo o seu staff são espetaculares a receber os seus hóspedes. Entre todos os pratos óptimos que experimentamos, queremos realçar o tártaro de salmão que é simplesmente inacreditável. Local perfeito para descansar, longe de tudo e em harmonia com a natureza. Hotel isolado, junto à barragem, com óptimo serviço de restauração. Permite observar o céu limpo, com estrelas e constelações só visíveis em locais isolados e sem iluminação excessiva.
