We arrived at the lodge late afternoon. They did a swift check-in and let us wait at the restaurant/bar area. The view from here was amazing! They served us yummy welcome drinks. The room had to be reached by a super steep hill and I was completely out of breath from the short walk. I also have a bad knee so wasn't looking forward walking back down. They should definitely offer some buggy service! The rooms were spacious, super clean and they offer mosquito spray which you can spray before you go to sleep. We went back for a beautiful sunset at the restaurant. No-one in sight to order drinks. We had to go behind the bar and call someone. After sunset we had pre-ordered a set dinner menu (200k pax, when we arrived), which was served about 30min too late. All fine tho. The food was delicious! Back in our room everything was made ready for sleep. There was a bit of noise from the main road that is literally next to the lodge. Trucks with music, karaoke somewhere. Not as remote as you might think. Breakfast was super tasty but a little small compared to dinner. All in all we had a great stay.

Mbeliling Ecolodge is a truly beautiful property with excellent views, food and birding. The best part was the amazingly welcoming hotel staff. Highly recommended!

We stayed at Mbeliling Ecolodge for several nights and absolutely loved every moment. From the second we arrived, we felt incredibly welcome and comfortable. The whole team here is amazing — always smiling, extremely friendly, and genuinely helpful. They made us feel safe and taken care of throughout our stay. The rooms and small bungalows are cozy, beautifully designed, and well thought-out. They have everything you need — including mosquito nets and well-prepared solutions to keep the mosquitoes away, which is essential when staying in the jungle. The bathroom, shower, and toilet were clean and well maintained. From our balcony we had an unbelievable view over the mountain, the jungle, and the island — every sunrise and sunset felt magical. One of the highlights is the garden. A huge thank you to the gardener! They have created an impressive green oasis in the middle of the jungle — filled with countless plant species, flowers, and lush vegetation. It truly feels like a botanical paradise. From our balcony we spotted around 12 different butterfly species and many kinds of birds. If you love nature, bird watching, or butterflies — this is THE place to be. The food also deserves a special mention. Everything is cooked fresh, so it takes a bit of time, but it’s absolutely worth it. We highly recommend the daily dinner menu — usually six or seven different dishes, including soup and dessert. Every evening offers new flavors and a great introduction to local cuisine. Simply delicious. If you’re coming from Labuan Bajo, definitely make the trip into the mountains and stay here for multiple days. Mbeliling Ecolodge is a peaceful and sustainable retreat surrounded by untouched nature. We left deeply impressed and very relaxed. Highly recommended – we would come back anytime! 🌿✨

Fantastic location, set in a wooded mountain area. Spacious room with a balcony and superb views of the distant islands. Excellent for watching resident birds. We had a day trip to Komodo and Lake Sano guided by specialist bird guide Samuel. His enthusiasm and knowledge is second to none. We saw many endemic birds including the Pitta. The drive to Lake Sano was a bit tedious due to poorly maintained road but it was softened by a delicious lunch provided by a local family en route. It was easy to get to Komoda island by boat. We had good sightings of several dragons. It is a steep climb to the lodges from the reception area. Reasonable fitness will help. Food is Indonesian and quite tasty. Very helpful staff who went out of their way to make our stay memorable. Our trip was arranged by Ecosafari, Indonesia. The company is excellent.

Very nice cottages surrounded by beautiful nature. Very friendly and helpful staff. A night there is highly recommended.
