"The hotel is located on a hillside/slope. The reception is on the top where one gets drop off. If you have mobility problem, its crucial to request for room on the lobby level. We were alocated a room facing the lake, on the lowest section. Its beautiful sunrise view and the water is few steps below our room. The issue is when we needed something (I was very sick), there is no tel /intercom in the room (or our floor level- nothing we seen). So one of us had to walked in the rain to go to the reception. The staffs were friendly and helpful. The room is sp**** but with aircond and hot water shower. Perhaps the management will consider removing the white pendant light to replace with something softer for the eyes when one is in bed. Otherwise, the room is comfortable."

"I recently stayed at the Samosir Cottage on Samosir Island from November 29 to December 1, 2024. The room was spacious, a significant plus. However, the toilet area required attention, with ants present, as mentioned in previous reviews. While this was acceptable for me, it's an area for improvement. What truly impressed me was the exceptional service from the receptionist. They clearly explained options and kindly upgraded us to a bigger room. Their helpfulness and professionalism made a significant difference in our stay. We booked two deluxe rooms, but the first room had a smoke smell, prompting us to request a change or upgrade. Overall, while there's room for improvement in bathroom maintenance and mattress covers, the Samosir Cottage's spacious rooms and excellent service make it a solid choice for those visiting Samosir Island.
