The hotel is centrally located and I think that’s basically the sole reason I may consider staying at it again. Checking in was smooth (thanks to the HK colleague seconded from Ritz Carlton HK), and other than that, I think your hotel staff needs re-training, especially the concierge team! Terrible service and clueless! My friends who were also traveling were not as lucky at check-in. One wasn’t able to get his room at 6pm and was asked to wait (20 mins), and when he finally got his key, he went into the room where someone was already in it. Who could expect this kind of mistake happened in a “modern luxury hotel”? My other friend nearly traumatized trying to check-in with a staff who can’t really speak English and don’t understand what “confirmation number” means. To me, the only disappointment was no upgrade at all even I was a Titanium member then. But well, I of course understand it is “subject to availability”. Hotel itself and its location is superb and definitely create a modern luxury feeling. But I’m staying in a HOTEL and HOSPITALITY and SERVICE should be the most important. And Edition Tokyo fails in all aspect, and maybe this is how you want to create a “lasting memory”? The short lady at the concierge was rude and impolite. When I was trying to ask about the timetable of the airport bus and where the stop is, she simply said why don’t you check it online cos you need to use your credit card and book anyway! I cannot believe this kind of service in Japan, let alone at a 5-star Marriot managed hotel. In the end I let my friend to handle it and she told me she talked to 3 different concierge colleagues and each gave a different answer, in the end it had to escalate up to the duty manager to get a concrete response on how to take the airport bus to Narita. Crazy! Then on separate occasions we went to the lobby bar. We requested to sit by the window and the waiter there said “it is reserved” on every occasion. In the end of course the sofa by the window was empty (and on one occasion it was empty till the bar was closed). I got annoyed and asked for the restaurant manager and I said “if you need a minimum spending just say so, why you have to put us at the bar table?” She said she would look into it and of course no one has yet to give us a good reason why is it the case. And service at the bar was appalling and to a certain extent I would even use “racist” to put it. As a Titanium with Marriot Bonvoy and a Globalist with World of Hyatt, I must say I made a terrible mistake staying at Tokyo Edition. I am sure I would receive better treatment and a better holiday experience if I stay at Andaz Tokyo which is across the street!

We’re a family of 4, staying 9 nights at the Pullman Tamachi in 2 adjoining rooms. Our experience of the hotel and in particular staff was exceptional. We were generously granted early check in and a very late check out (possibly helped by my Diamond All.Accor status) which made our day of arrival and departure that more easy to manage. Thank you Jakapun (Director of rooms) The rooms were generous in size, very well appointed and laid out. The breakfast in the main restaurant was great with a nice variety of options. Staff were attentive and food was replenished as needed. The location was perfect for us, metres from the main train line linking the busiest stations, yet far way from the hustle to offer a much-needed sanctuary, highlighted by the roof top garden, terrace and executive lounge. Biggest praise goes to the staff of the executive lounge, led by Jordan and Masa and their great support staff. I have yet to see staff anywhere in the world offer the levels of service they all provided during our stay. From asking questions about what we like and had in mind, to offering options, making reservations and sending frequent emails with listed itinerary and instructions, they made our experience in Tokyo a memorable one for my family. Their attention to detail, enthusiasm and pleasure in hearing we had a great day based on their recommendations, made the difference. The hotel is very fortunate to have staff like you all. My family and I truly thank you for your exceptional service and memorable holiday experience. Looking forward to returning in the near future.

Caveat: only stayed here one night and left early morning so we didn’t experience the gym or breakfast. Service was great, such as the staff waiting for us in the lobby at 5:40am because they knew we’d booked a taxi and wanted to help with the bags. That kind of proactive service. Martinis at the bar were perfect; live music made for nice ambience; check in and express check out on the TV were super quick. Dinner at the teppanyaki restaurant downstairs was delicious although surprising the staff barely spoke any English (we arrived from a small country ryokan so this was surprising in Tokyo). But Japanese people are so wonderful and friendly you can always get by with some menu pointing and miming. The real magic here though is having your own balcony, which in central Tokyo is a rare treat (pic is our view from balcony). I’d definitely stay here again.

Ich kann aus körperlichen Gründen keine Maske tragen, konnte aber ohne Vorwarnung bequem verbringen. Ich mag den Garten, in dem man auch Ende Dezember das Herbstlaub genießen kann, das ruhige Innere und die Inneneinrichtung. Dazu passten auch Kunstwerke wie japanische Gemälde und Drucke. Ich hatte ein chinesisches und ein japanisches Frühstück, aber der frische Orangensaft und die Miso-Suppe waren köstlich. Ich fand den Orangensaft am leckersten in Tokio. Auch die Präsentation der kleinen Donuts war aufwendig und niedlich. Ich werde auch Folgendes verwenden.

Over the past decade, I stayed at this hotel multiple times for work. It being a fairly expensive hotel, I typically wouldn't pick for a family trip. In this case, I'm very glad I did. We picked the Grand Hyatt because it gave us the confidence they would be able to meet our dietary needs (celiac disease - gluten free diet) without too much issues. They more than delivered on this. We paid extra for a Club level room, so breakfast an an afternoon snack were included. To our delight, the Club staff was able to accommodate our dietary needs and provided gluten free bread during our stay. They also helped us identify all buffet food that was safe to eat for us. All in all, awesome experience. Highly recommended for everyone, but in particular for anyone with dietary needs.

Sehr gut! Das Hotel war sehr speziell mit japanischen Dekorationen. Der Raum des Zimmers ist groß genug, dass Sie in der Zwischenzeit Ihre zwei großen Gepäckstücke öffnen können! Die Lage ist ein weiteres Highlight, es ist nahe GINZA (10 min. Fuß) oder Sie können einen Halt im Untergrund nehmen. Andererseits können Sie auch den Toyko-Tower vom Fenster sehen! Das Hotel ist auch sehr gut, ich werde das nächste Mal wieder buchen, wenn ich nach Toyko besuche.
