Anantya in the Village

We spent a week staying at Anantya in the Village in order to make a spiritual journey to each of the nine Nava Tirupati temples nearby. We were very well looked after. Sivaraj as the hotel manager was warm and very engaging in his approach and his English was excellent which was very helpful for us as our Tamil is almost nonexistent. He was able to guide us for some temple visits and encouraged us to visit some other local sites as well, including pottery, archeology and the Theri Kaadu (red sand area) with a range of interesting birds and other wildlife, which we really enjoyed. The meals were a real highlight for us- delicious dishes with subtle flavours ( much better than any Indian restaurant food we ever have in our home area). Special thanks to Michael the chef during our stay for his friendly approach and culinary expertise. All the staff were friendly and went the extra mile in attending to our needs. Our room was clean and very comfortable. Sivaraj organized a driver for us who took us to all the temples and had a very friendly style. Every aspect of our stay made it easy to focus on the spiritual purpose of our trip.

The resort is located close to Aadhinadha Perumal temple in a quiet village- Alwathirunagari . You can base yourself here for the Nava Tirupathi temples and start after a hearty complimentary breakfast to visit the 9 temples ( we did this) or you can choose to unwind after the Nava Tirupathi temple visits (if you are doing the trip from Tirunelveli). The well appointed rooms in the heritage property with quaint decor gives you a taste of rural Tamil Nadu with modern amenities. Good for photo shoots as well. The only issue we had was that the shower pressure was a little less for our liking. Very good vegetarian food was provided for dinner and complimentary breakfast. You can also pick up the masala powders prepared by Anantya chefs. The staff goes out of their way to provide an excellent service - they helped us plan our Nava Tirupathi temple visits with a route map that helped us finish the 9 temples between 0830 and 1230.

A lovely boutique hotel with comfortable rooms, excellent and attentive staff, tasty country cooking and a manager Sivaraj who went out of his way to make our stay memorable. He was able to organise activities that were out the norm and to a time of our convenience. We cannot speak highly enough about the hotel and the service we received
