"Das City Hotel, Thimphu ist ein modernes, Boutique-Hotel im Zentrum von Thimphu's bescheidenen CBD. Die Zimmer waren geräumig und sauber, und alle Versorgungseinrichtungen (Warmwasser, AC, Aufzüge, WiFi) funktionierten gut. Das Königsbett war komfortabel und das Bett aus Leinen sauber und neu. Das Frühstück wurde in einem modernen Speisezimmer serviert, das auch einen attraktiven Balkon mit Sitz hatte. Es gab 6-8 Gerichte auf dem Angebot, die traditionelle Bhutanisch und indische Küche umfassten. Wir fanden das Essen lecker. Es gibt einen Platz vorbehalten draußen für Tourfahrzeug zum Parken. Das Zimmer hatte einen Sicherheitsschachtel, der für Kameras etc. groß war, aber zu klein für meinen Laptop. Wir würden definitiv hier wieder bleiben."

"To start with the positive, the rooms are beautiful and most of the employees of the place very friendly and helpful. However, the one point which made the entire stay unenjoyable in the end and created a very bitter taste was how they ripped us off with the dinner charges. First, they never mentioned the price of the dinner to us and their menus consisted just of a set menu with no prices whatsoever (which made us believe that the dinner was included as it was the case for other hotels in Bhutan). The drinks menu had prices which was clear and easy to handle and we got charged our drinks amount fair and square upon checkout. After we have checked out and left the hotel long time ago, our tour operator all of a sudden informed us that the Zhiwa Ling reached out to them with an insanely overpriced bill for missed dinner payments - around 50 USD per person per dinner. At this point, we were willing to pay but not that much. Not only was the food at best mediocre, also my fiance who had problems with her stomach didn't order all of the courses on the pre set menu. When notifying the hotel manager of the short coming of not mentioning the prices beforehand, they agreed that they made the mistake but sticked to their narrative of us having to pay anyway. When we pointed out that we didn't have all of the 4 courses in all dinners, they came up with the ridiculous excuse that only the main is to be paid (since that was the only course we both had during both dinners) as the other courses are coming for free next to it. Bottom line, just inacceptable managerial behavior which just left us feeling ripped off and not at all appreciated. For the future travelers, please just order starter, soup and dessert as they should be for free and skip the main which is in no way worth 50 USD. We also spoke to a hotel manager of a different luxury hotel in Paro who confirmed that the costs for food are basically near 0 in Bhutan."

Preis - Leistung stimmen in diesem klassischen Hotel."

"Wir waren 2 Tage hintereinander im Spa und haben uns massieren lassen. Die beiden Therapeuthinen Kencho und Karma waren super, super, super. Vielen herzlichen Dank für diese tolle Therapie. Wir wurden erstklassig bedient. Die beiden Damen haben auch noch extra für uns die Sauna eingeschaltet."

"Nach einer katastrophalen Erfahrung in meinem ersten Hotel Terma Linca habe ich verzweifelt nach einer Lösung gesucht für die nächsten Tage in Thimpu. Vor meiner Check-In habe ich das Hotel mir angesehen und bin dann zu meinem früheren Hotel zurückgegangen um meine Koffer zu holen. Besonders wichtig waren mir gute Matratzen und ein ruhiges Zimmer ohne permanente Hintergrundgeräusche mit den Heizungsgeräten. Positiv Die Zimmer sind neuwertig und sauber, gut ausgestattet, allerdings mit Kunststoffüberzug bei den Möbeln. Die Lage des Zimmers war ruhig und ich habe den Vorteil einer zentralen Lage genießen können. Positiv nur fand ich auch dass ich nicht beim Check-In bezahlen musste wie im ersten Hotel. Besonders erwähnen will ich am zweiten Tag beim Frühstück eine Dame die mich komplett verstanden hat und mir ein sehr gutes Frühstück gemacht hat wegen der geringen Anzahl von Gästen ohne Buffet, Frau Tshering Choden. Negativ Das Frühstück ist eher die Kategorie drei Sterne einzuordnen. Es fehlten Granola, feine Haferflocken und eine kleine Auswahl von Nüssen. In einem guten Hotel geht es nach internationalem Standard nicht dass ein Hotel am Frühstück für den Cappuccino eigens Geld verlangt. Am Frühstück sind immer alle Heißgetränke in unbeschränkter Anzahl in dem Preis für das Frühstück inkludiert. Insgesamt kann ich das Hotel empfehlen."
