Stayed here for a change as we had already stayed at the Bungalow on the beach. The welcome was warm, and they did a traditional aarti. Communication was fine. It all ended there. 1. Your car is parked on the road, and there is no secure parking 2. We stayed in the 1st floor room facing the road, and the bed was too high and only one foot stool provided. The other person had to scramble to the other side of the bed from this end to get in and out. 3. AC capacity is too low for the room and the room is dimly lit. 4. There is no proper storage space in toilets to place anything, including your kit. 5. Height of wash basin is way too high for short people. The geyser did not work. 6. The place has good potential but too many staff and yet it looks unkempt. Plants all dried up and not watered and stuff lying all around in the nooks and corners. 7. Breakfast included, but don't waste ur time. They served cut fruits, white bread with butter and jam, and poori, which looked like it was done by an amateur, and the potato was probably made as side dish for curd rice. 8. I'm being critical as the place does not come cheap. 9. There is one lady who actually smiles and wants to please. Only green tea sachets is provided with the kettle in the room. However if you ask the caretaker he will make a coffee for you. If you arr staying on the higher floors you will have to walk down every time you have a request. Our broken shower gel bottle was taken away and brought back in the same condition and placed in the toilet. Do yourself a favour and stay elsewhere. It's OK for a one night stay , but then it's priced way above what it's worth.

We do not recommend this Thanga house which could however have some advantages (see photos). Many constraints imposed by the owner and little keeping of commitments. Starting with the requirement of an advance payment of 3 nights by bank transfer when we had already booked 2 nights through a booking site and we just wanted to add one night. Odd ! and tedious to have to find a solution for a transfer when you are a traveler. In addition, there is a risk of being charged for cancellation by the booking site Then dissuaded by this owner from renting a room on the ground floor because the small private swimming pool is temporarily not working (after checking the swimming pools of this pension have not been working for months!) and encouraged by him to rent a room - more expensive!- on the 2nd floor with sea view Finally the owner requires an additional telephone number. To do what? while everything is paid and we already exchange by whatsapp. What mistrust on his part! While -We- should have been wary, because… When we arrive, we are installed on the 1st floor and not on the 2nd! Bedside lamps do not work. No dinner possible, you had to order it. (Know that there is no restaurant in Tarangambadi) . Impossible to leave since we got stuck by the owner by paying everything! And to continue let us quote the petty spirit of the house which takes the trouble to specify that it is forbidden to bring your food. As if we were going here to eat our thali bought elsewhere! Finally, no real apology or explanation from the embarrassed woman manager who keeps saying "i am sorry". So a kind of guest house at very high prices where we got trapped. Too bad.
