We went for golf and it was another enriching experience playing in this well-designed golf course that offered varied challenges. Hitting up to a green situated about 15 m higher than the tee-box about 140 m distance; crossing a 170 m ravine to a narrow fairway; knocking your ball 145 m away to an island-green about 10 m below the tee-box, driving 150m to an obscured fairway, etc make this course enjoyable. Some fairways were somewhat wet (perhaps from the rain the night before) but mostly well-maintained. The caddies were trying their best and as they didn't speak English, it made golfing at Katathong more challenging but their language deficiency was fully compensated by their keenness to ensure we had an enjoyable golf game. My wife and I had a great game at this great golf course (our 2nd time after 4 years of absence). Thank you Katathong for providing us with a great time together.

Fabelhaftes kleines Resort. Wir reisen seit 5 Monaten nach Thailand und dieses Resort ist in meinem Top 2, da alles perfekt war. Im Pool Villa verblieben. Der Pool ist wirklich für den Sitz, aber sehr gut für das Abkühlen mit einem Getränk. Das Zimmer war spotless und groß. Das Bett und die Kissen waren so komfortabel und sauber. Das Badezimmer hatte alles und war geräumig mit großer Dusche. Der Hauptpool ist sehr sauber und modern aussehen. Personal super freundlich. Sie brauchen ein Auto oder ein Taxi oder ein Scooter. Wir hatten ein Auto so kein Problem. Das Resort ist am Norden Ende des Gebiets. Es war ein wenig schwierig zu finden, aber links abbiegen am Straßenzeichen und fahren Sie die Spur, die Sie in den Rücken des Resorts kommen. Viel Parkplatz. Frühstück wurde Ihnen serviert. Großer Kaffee! Standard Thai Brecky Eier Toast Obst etc genügend, um Ihren Tag zu beginnen.

Kein schlechtes Hotel, neu und modern mit günstiger Lage. Die Zimmer haben ein interessantes Design und sind recht geräumig, allerdings ließ die Reinigung zu wünschen übrig; auf dem Boden waren lange schwarze Haare zu finden. Der Kühlschrank läuft kaum, die Temperatur lässt sich nicht regulieren und der Wasserdruck in der Dusche ist schwach. Das Bett und die Bettwäsche sind sehr bequem, das Schlafen macht Freude. Die Hotelanlage ist groß und grün, es gibt einen Minigarten und einen Minizoo, wo man die Kaninchen füttern kann. Der Strand ist sehr schön und malerisch in einem Nadelwald, einer großen Anzahl von Sonnenliegen und Sofas. Aber da wir in der Nebensaison waren, konnten wir nicht ins Meer gehen und wir hatten keine Lust, im Pool zu schwimmen – es war bewölkt und schmutzig und an sich uninteressant, nur ein kleines Rechteck an einem dunklen Ort. Vielleicht hatten wir gerade das lange thailändische Wochenende hinter uns und das Hotel war überfüllt. Auch das Frühstück war nicht beeindruckend. Es scheint eine große Auswahl zu geben, aber das Essen war mittelmäßig und die Backwaren waren altbacken. Wir werden den Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel wahrscheinlich nicht bereuen, aber beim zweiten Mal höchstwahrscheinlich nicht.

We travelled with 3 families (6 adults and 4 kids 8-12) and stayed for 2 weeks. This was our second visit to Mai Khao Lak and we were equally as happy. Stayed in the top section (pool access jacuzzi suite). Modern, clean room with a separate living room, which doubles as a kid's room. Walk off the balcony into private spa area which joins massive swimming pool. There are no shortage of wet options with 5 pools from the beachfront area to the peaceful adults only pool area at the top of the resort. Loads of choices for bars and food. The new Thai restaurant by the beach is very comfortable with great food. At the kids pool area there is another kitchen and bar with great lunch options. The staff are always friendly and helpful. There is an hourly free shuttle bus from reception to town which is convenient, otherwise walk to the beachfront and you can get a tuk tuk (if you order through reception it will cost more!). Breakfast buffet is easy to navigate, with a huge selection of coffee / tea, fresh fruits / yoghurts, cooked food, cereal, pastries, cakes and sweets, loads of bread choices and cold cuts & cheeses. This was a big highlight for the kids and great way for us to all gather and catch up to start the day together. The beach and ocean are very nice, and the many options of beachfront bars, restaurants, laundry services and massage places are all within a 1-5 minute walk from the resort. We visited most of these during our stay and never had a bad experience. Kids club is awesome with plenty of fun and varied activities to engage the kids. If I had to fault something - the internet inside our room was poor, but in most other areas of the resort it was fine. So the 2 big questions... would we go back (a third time)? YES! and would we recommend it to friends? YES! Thanks to everyone at Mai Khao Lak for another memorable experience! See you next time!
