Castle in Old Town

We absolutely loved our stay at the hotel. The care we received was second to none, the restoration of the building was superb & the rooms fabulous. Comfortable, stylish & all round incredible. We cannot rate the hotel high enough.

My complaint is about the poor service that I got from manager Alina or Helena , In advanced I booked and pay to my agent for room for 4 adults , that means 2 big beds, booked for one night that I lended in Tbilisi Georgia and the other two nights after a week , when I got to the hotel my room was prepared for only 3 adults , the second bed was too small for 2 adults to sleep together comfortably . I expect that the hotel will take responsibility for that mistake and correct it in a simple way , but instead the manager turn it in to an exhausting discussion and even shout at me like it was my fault , she was very nervous and impatient, she took advantage of the situation that I paid already and didn’t want to find a solution, After my first night there I wanted to cancel the two nights that I book in advanced and she told me “yes you can cancel no problem” but in reality when i talk with my agent later in that week she told him that I can’t cancel , and after a week I found my self again in that hotel , I got the same room with the same problem and still no agreed solution for there mistake , all her solution was involving me paying for another bet or another mattress that she will throw on the floor (she ask 100 gel per night for that) Got my 12yo daughter sleeping in my bed with me and my wife In those nights

Bit of a nightmare to find and when we did eventually arrive, carrying two heavy cases up the steeps stairs was a mission, but what do you expect when you stay in a castle?! Superb location: only a 5 min walk to the old town. The chap who checked us in was very pleasant (although communication was slightly difficult as he spoke almost no English). We were not given a tour or told where the pool was, which I found odd. No telephones in the rooms so we were told to communicate via WhatsApp. This was not possible due to the lack of steady wifi. Public areas of the castle were beautiful. We stayed in the Burmese room for nights and the décor of the room was nice but not particularly luxurious in any way. The room was bizarrely arranged. The toilet was in a closet in one corner and a shower cubicle was in the other corner completely open to the room (I would suggest only sharing with people you feel very comfortable with!). There was no bath matt so the wooden floor became very wet after a shower and was lethal for a few hours afterwards. Small niggle, but they only gave limited toilet roll which was annoying. We had no maid service and our towels were not changed for 3 days, which I found unpleasant. The wifi was barely functioning which was incredibly frustrating. The bed was uncomfortable to my mind but I appreciate that some people do prefer hard beds.For the price paid, I think the facilities should be better. The pool was a disappointment. It was murky and shabby and seemed to have been added as an afterthoughtt. We did not use it, nor did any other guests whilst we were there.

Very disappointed in this hotel. We were excited to stay here in the armory room, thinking it would be a highlight of the vacation. At 750 GEL a night, it was a huge disappointment. The armory room is very loud, as there is a side door that seems to go in to the kitchen or something. At all times, day and night, we could hear dishes clanking, banging around, voices, etc. Sometimes enough that at 2AM we would be awoken by the clanging. Our room had a private terrace but we didn't even go out there as there is actually a door on one end and a storage room on the other, and men were coming and going every day along the "private terrace". The shower was very powerful but wouldn't get hot, just luke warm. Also, using the term "castle" is dubious. It is a nice building, but in Georgia, there are so many nice buildings. Although the hotel is nicely renovated, with nice staff and in a good location, in a country like Georgia you could get a much nicer room for this price. I would recommend you give this hotel a pass and save yourself the disappointment. I literally preferred out Airbnb that we paid only 50 GEL a night for.

The location was fantastic. You walk right into old town. But the property itself is a bohemian, repurposed castle difficult to navigate with terribly odd-sized rooms and luxury it certainly was not.

A very quaint hotel. Definitely, form over function. Our room next to front door and we heard everyone come and go. Many flights of stairs to front door, to reception and more to pool. Jack hammer going every day we were there and not pleasant when sitting by the pool. Service strong by some and not by others. No reply to prior emails re: transfers.
