Mikurigaike-Onsen

Mikurigaike-Onsen was definitely a unique stay experience! Getting there was a major challenge though - so I strongly suggest you check the weather beforehand (and sometimes your own physical fitness especially if you're carrying a heavy bagpack). Unfortunately for me, during my check-in day, there was poor visible and heavy rain- I got lost finding my way there. Climbing up and down snow, hills and steps nearly made me faint. But the experience was worth it. Room wise - I shared the dorm with two other ladies, and thankfully, managed to get some decent sleep. The bed was on the firmer side, but there were enough hooks to keep our things organised. The meals that they prepared were hearty and filling! 6pm for dinner; 6.30am - 8am for breakfast. I liked that there were shoe lockers and a drying corner for us to hang our gear & other belongings. There was also a room near their cafe to just chill and relax for the night. Lights out / Quiet Time was at like 9pm; so thankfully there weren't too many noisy inconsiderate guests then. The onsen was decent. You do need to bring your own towels - otherwise you can rent there. Toilets are alright. The staff were nice and friendly! Pssst~ you can ask them for a stamp for your notebook if you're into that ;) I'll definitely consider staying here again, on another season. The views there were amazing. surprisingly this hotel has the best wifi in our entire trip even though this hotel is located above the mountains 😂 dinner was okay but buffet breakfast was fantastic we took second servings. soaking yourself in japan’s tallest onsen feels super great too. however morning’s soak wasn’t as hot as the evening’s soak. note that you have to walk quite a distance from the station. and the walk is more like a mini hike in snow. it can get slippery. DO NOT bring any luggage up. just a backpack will do for your 1 night stay. did a mini hike behind the hotel and view was fantastic. the sunset view from the hotel feels like you’re in heaven too. 10/10 would recommend this hotel.

Facilities are rather basic, but it’s sufficient for a night stay and food is surprisingly good and portion is huge!

This hotel is very nice and not far from the station. Staff try to facilitate every customer. I’ve been there on heavy raining day, The hotel prepare the equipment to make our stuff dry. The food is so delicious, various and well- prepared. The room and public bath is clean.

Beautiful location on top of Mt. Tateyama! Really glad to be able to get such a good deal including dinner and breakfast. I stayed on the top bunk, which was so stable and the ceiling was so high that I could stand totally straight on it as a 1.6m tall person. The staff were very helpful and other guests were also quite friendly. The onsen was not the most unique and relatively small, but the stay was still well worth it for the experience. The route was also mostly covered in snow, so as someone who was walking on snow for the first time, I took a while to get the accommodation, but thankfully the weather was great and the sceneries were breathtaking!

Is a nice and good onsen hotel. I stayed at the private room, there's no own restroom is all shared but as my room is just next to the restroom so is ok. All amenities you have to bring yourself, as if you don't you got to purchase from them.
