The Peel Aldergate

The hotel is really nice, bedding and room were amazing but bathroom was a real let down. Mouldy tiles and nothing a touch of bleach couldn’t shift. rusty radiator. What a shame when keeping tiles and sealant clean is so easy.

Stayed in this quaint hotel whilst visiting family. Built in the 1900s it’s an old hotel but, very comfortable and clean.There is a long flight of stairs leading up to little corridors before finally getting to my room.My room was quite spacious with a four poster bed but, the bathroom was really, shall we say,compact!!The lady on reception did warn me it was a small bathroom but, the room itself was of a good size. It had plenty of drawer space and a wardrobe. Tea and coffee making facilities with a nice clean kettle. The room faced the street but, the road noise during early morning peak and the evening wasn’t bad at all. A great little radiator which warmed up the room very nicely. A very pleasant dinning room and bar which served breakfast and evening meals but, you could get a coffee or a drink from the bar in the afternoon.The restaurant and bar were closed from 3pm Mondays and Tuesdays but, served guests with breakfast.The dinning room is on street level so you can watch the passing parade whilst having your breakfast etc.. The restaurant had entertainment on the Sat night which was very pleasant .. The staff were very friendly and housekeeping was pretty much everyday and I was there for 7 nights. Overall a very pleasant stay opposite a small park and buses. A short walk to shops and pubs ….. Would have no hesitation in staying there again one day…….

We stayed overnight so that we could visit the Tamworth Tap. We booked one of the superior rooms, it had a 4 poster bed and an ensuite bath and shower. The hotel is within easy walking distance of everything in the town. Including the Castle and St. Edithas church, both of which are well worth a visit. The staff in the hotel are friendly and efficient even though it was quite busy when we were there.

Decent rooms, loads of towels, comfy bed, nice toiletries and a good hot shower. Friendly, helpful staff and the hottest breakfast I have ever been served. Great choices on the menu and while I was eating a man came in and asked for something that wasn't on the menu, the waitress didn't need to check simply wrote it down and few minutes later it was served.

Characterful hotel in Tamworth, ideally placed for visiting the many local attractions - in my case, the National Memorial Arboretum. Delightful, helpful staff, nice room, good breakfast, decent size car park. Highly recommended.

Booked this hotel due to proximity to where we needed to be for the saturday night, the courtyard come carpark is a bit tight but managed to find a space - just, not the owners faults at all - just be aware ! Greeted by a lovely lady who showed us to our room - up a steel stair case, there are ones located on the ground floor - i suppose if you need those you just ask! A lovely room, a tad warm though and air con didn't work but we managed to open a window which is unusual in a hotel room. Lovely large shower with plenty of hot water. Great little touches too including freshly ground coffee in room as well as the standard tea and coffee facilities, large fluffy towels, great toiletries and a decent size. It didn't feel like a hotel room as there wasn't your usual long corridor !! Bed wasn't the comfiest and as i've said previously the room was very hot. The duvet very heavy but then that's a personal choice thing. Would i stay again? Most definitely :-) The staff were lovely and friendly at Christophers restaurant - where you check in, and always greeted you with a friendly face. Thankyou for sharing your lovely property with us hope if we need to be in Tamworth again we will be staying with you :-)
