"Our stay at the Old Markets Hotel in Symi was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. We were so appreciative of the complimentary room upgrade, which made our stay feel even more special. The hotel itself is beautifully restored with incredible character, stunning views and such a peaceful atmosphere. Our room was stunning, with beautiful traditional stone architecture and an exceptionally large, incredibly comfortable bed — one of the most comfortable we’ve slept in. It really added to the luxurious and relaxing feel of the stay. What really made the experience exceptional was the staff. Everyone was genuinely warm, welcoming and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Daniel was especially informative and attentive, always happy to help with recommendations and providing excellent service at breakfast each morning. A special mention also has to go to the wonderful Christina whose scrambled eggs were honestly the best we have ever tasted! Breakfast each day was something we genuinely looked forward to. We also had the pleasure of meeting Andy, the owner, which added a lovely personal touch to the experience. We were especially grateful to John, who met us at the ferry at the very early arrival time of 5:45am and kindly arranged for us to access our room immediately on arrival. This level of care and hospitality truly set the tone for our stay. The only slight downsides for us personally were that the bathroom area, although stylishly designed, did lack a little privacy as it was open within the bedroom space, separated mainly by the wardrobe and sink area. We also felt the room lighting could have been improved, as some of the lights appeared not to be working, making the room quite dim at times. However, these were only minor points in what was otherwise a truly memorable stay. A beautiful and unique hotel that we would highly recommend to anyone visiting Symi."

Marika's Deluxe Rooms ★★★★

"Unfortunately these rooms are not what we expected as the title "Deluxe" implies they are something that they are not. The rooms are tiny. The bed almost hits the wardrobe door and has hard corners at the edges which means you bang your knees if you are not careful. The balcony is tiny, you almost have to fold yourselves in half to fit on it so is very uncomfortable. The bathroom is so small the bathmat is too big to fit properly and the bin sits in front of the loo . The hand basin is so small you are unable to fit any toiletries in or around it. There are no plates or cutlery provided. They provide two hard scratchy bathrobes which wouldnt fit anyone bigger than a size 8. The room is beautifully decorated however decoration does not warrant a deluxe description. The fridge hums all night, the aircon is noisy. You cannot open the balcony doors at night to get any air as the aircon units from the adjoining building are too noisy. The TV red light does not switch off and the green lights for the wi fi are on all night so sleeping is difficult. All in all not a pleasant stay. There are much better places to stay in Symi . I would like to point out that neither me or my husband are large people."

"Dies ist ein schöner Ort für ein paar Tage.offensichtlich viel ruhiger als Symi Hafen und sehr wenige Mahlzeiten in der unmittelbaren Umgebung, außer Katsara Restaurant, das hervorragend und gut wert ist. Das Hotel-Essenzimmer war während der 4 Tage, die wir dort waren, leer für Mittag und Abendessen. Das ist eine Schande, aber wahrscheinlich kann man reparieren, wenn etwas getan wird, um bessere Umgebung zu schaffen, zum Beispiel durch die Öffnung des Essensraums zum Patio, so dass es nicht ein innersteriler Ort fühlt. Dies ist kein Problem bei Frühstückszeiten, aber für andere Mahlzeiten mögen die Menschen offensichtlich nicht die Idee eines solchen Innenraum im Sommer. Die Zimmer sind schön, aber standard klein mit kleinen Badezimmern. Holen Sie sich einen mit einem Balkon vor dem Meer, versuchen Sie, einen der drei “mittleren” anstatt die am Ende der Passage, da diese enger scheinen. Klimaanlage und WiFi funktionierten gut. Wir fanden es besser und bequemer zu bezahlen E10 für eine Sonnelounge im Hotel, die Ihnen ein Getränk gibt, im Vergleich zum Strandclub 100 Meter entfernt, die auch E10 ein Bett für ein Obstsalat und ein Getränk (wie weniger besetzt im Hotel). 100 Meter in die entgegengesetzte Richtung zum Strandclub ( links abbiegen, wenn Sie das Hotel verlassen) können Sie den lokalen Bus zum/ von Symi Hafen für E2.50. Es dauert etwa 20 Minuten. Es geht einmal in der halben Stunde, und es kommt einmal in der Stunde zurück). Sie können auch Wassertaxis nach Agias Marina oder Agias Nikolas von wo der Bus geht. Es gibt ein kleiner Stab da neben einem kleinen blauen Kaffee und ein netter junger Mann wird Ihnen sagen Alles, was Sie wissen müssen."

"Gute Lage,schöner Patio, in Zimmer 12 superTerrasse.gute Ausstattung mit Küche, leider kann man da nicht immer sitzen. Da laute lüftergeräunsche von unten aus der Waschküche. Keiner spricht englisch oder griechisch. Fernsehen kaputt. Koffer kann man nur draußen am Eingang ohne abschließen lagern bis zur Abfahrt.denke zimmer unten sehr dunkel."
