Der Platz vor dem Hotel war im totalen Umbruch; die Pläne für die Neugestaltung sehen gut aus! Die unmittelbare Umgebung zeigt wirklich nichts her. Das Hotel wirkt etwas moderner, aber im Inneren mit nicht übersehbaren Alterungsspuren. Dennoch: Als Standort in Südwales für eine Gruppe Museumsbahn-Reisender war es eine ganz gute Wahl. Sehr freundliches Personal, recht gut ausgestattete Zimmer, zwar nur britisches (!) Frühstück, aber ordentliches Dinner machen dieses Hotel zu einer sehr guten Unterkunft, dies vor allem für Bahnreisende, weil der Bahnhof fußläufig zu erreichen ist.

Having paid £109 for the room and an additional £5 for parking I was expecting something a bit better than what we got. The staff on reception were lovely and very friendly, but the room was a bit tired and cold. We stayed in room 401, which was an end room on the 4th floor, which on first inspection seemed very nice. However, it soon became apparent that the air conditioning unit didn’t work, the windows were both broken so they couldn’t be opened and were leaking, the one radiator in the room was rusty and ineffective and there was signs of damp on the ceiling. I think for the price of the room these issues should have been fixed before we arrived. Had the price been lower I wouldn’t have minded but if you’re charging more than other places I think the standard should be higher.

Sie hat uns ein Zimmer (223) für noch bessere Preise und war so nett und charmant. Es ist nicht das erste Mal, dass wir etwas Zeit in Ihrem Hotel verbracht und immer sehr glücklich gewesen. Die Betten sind komfortabel, die Zimmer sind sauber und das Personal ist besonders wunderschön, das Frühstück ist schön und verschieden. Die Lage ist perfekt, in der Nähe des Stadtzentrums. Die Preise sind vernünftig. Wir werden definitiv wiederkommen.

The host informed us that pay and display parking was available about 50 meters from the entrance of the Boathouse. We found the lot, and was lucky to get the very last spot. We then walked up and down the street to look for the pay station, but found none. Calling the host, he simply informed us that there had been ”a recent change” to NOT charge for parking in that area. He had not bothered to correctly inform us, but did not even apologize. At all other times we passed that parking place it was completely full. Be warned that you will most likely have to travel further along this very busy road to find a spot. You may also have to pay. Our room was spacious and clean and had a nice view of the bay area. The bed was comfortable, although the arrangement with a very large painting stretching all the way down to pillow level stopped us from sitting in bed reading and watching TV. An impractical arrangement. Better reading light would have been nice. There was a small fridge, and yogurt and other stuff for a continental breakfast were loaded there. Not a full English breakfast, but an adequate start of the day. We wondered about the clunky glass bedside tables in glass, and discovered that both were damaged and had therefore been turned with their backs out. It hides the damage, but eliminates the shelf space. How about getting new tables with shelves in wood? The bathroom was unusually spacious and offered both a bath tub and a shower cabin. The password protected WiFi worked fine. There was no elevator. There was no in-room safe.

Second visit in recent weeks. On both occasions we were impressed by the customer service provided by John at the front desk. Check-in was so efficient and friendly. I think I probably had the keys to my room and my car provided with free parking within about a minute or two of arriving. Really great after a long drive and you just want to get into your room and relax. Thanks to John for making our stay so hassle free and making it a pleasure to visit this Travelodge.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren viertägigen Aufenthalt in Cilbrwyn. Es war ein echtes Rückzug, ruhig und friedlich mit einem schönen, gut eingerichteten Garten, um sich zu entspannen. Die Gastgeber Bob und Orla waren sehr freundlich und machten alles, um uns willkommen zu machen; sie lieben Hunde und behandelten unser Cockerpoo Bruno wie einen Prinzen. Ein großzügiges kochiertes Frühstück (über den Garten) war ein schöner Weg, jeden Tag zu beginnen, und das Zimmer war komfortabel und spotless. Wir würden glücklich zurück! Cilbrwyn ist zwischen der Gower-Halbinsel und den Gipfeln des Brecon-Beacons/Wasserfalls-Landes, so dass wir in der Nähe einiger unserer Lieblings-Wandermöglichkeiten in Südwales waren!

Dieses B & B ist ein komplettes Geschirr und eine echte Suche. Ausgezeichnete Unterkunft mit superbischen Betten und Setze mit rund um. Das Frühstück kann man 'kontinental' sagen, aber es ist voller Vielfalt und für uns umfasste frisch gebackene Krebstiere, guter Kaffee, zahlreiche Getreide, Brot und Spritz plus Extras wie Pancakes, Karpfensirup, kaltes Fleisch und Käse. Das Frühstückszimmer ist auch ein komfortables Wohnzimmer mit viel Platz. Die Gäste sind nicht intrusive, sondern sehr hilfreich und die Ortschaft bietet viele zu sehen und zu tun, einschließlich schöner Margam Park (auf der Tür), Porthcawl mit allen seinen großen Seefischereieinrichtungen und Meerblicken und schneller Zugang zum M4, so dass man die meisten Südwales mit großer Erleichterung erreichen kann.
