Wir waren angenehm überrascht vom Swansea Motor Inn. Wir buchten die Unterkunft aufgrund der günstigen Lage zum Freycinet-Nationalpark. Wir kamen spät an, nachdem wir nach einem Wandertag in die örtliche Kneipe (Bark Mill Tavern & Bakery, die ich für Essen und freundlichen Service sehr empfehlen kann) gegangen waren. Ich rief die Rezeption an, um sie wissen zu lassen, und sie versicherten mir, dass es kein Problem sein würde und sie bei der Ankunft einfach anzurufen. Das Zimmer war sauber und hatte alles, was wir für eine Nacht brauchten. Es hatte einen schönen Blick auf das Meer mit einem geräumigen Balkon für den Morgenkaffee. Wir hatten einen der besten Kaffees der Reise aus dem Vollwertcafé auf der anderen Straßenseite und direkt daneben gibt es eine Tankstelle zum Auffüllen, bevor wir uns auf den Weg zu unserem Tassie-Roadtrip machen.

Wir hatten einen Einnachtsurlaub in einem komfortablen, warmen und sauberen zwei Schlafzimmer-Schlafschrank mit einem großen Blick auf die Freycinet-Halbinsel. Wir wünschten, wir hätten eine zweite Nacht verblieben. Die einzige Herausforderung, die wir hatten, war die relativ begrenzten Restaurantwahl in Swansea zu diesem Zeitpunkt des Jahres, das schwer zu verstehen war, da es scheint, viele Touristen zu haben. Einige Restaurants zeigten geschlossen, aber empfehlen, sie im September wieder zu öffnen. Der lokale IGA-Foodshop wurde auch um 5:30 Uhr geschlossen, so dass die Lebensmittelversorgung für den späten Reisenden eine Frage sein könnte.

Lovely stay at the Waterloo Swansea Tasmania.. we loved the retro style with beautiful sea views and plenty of space. Great laundry facilities… Wonderful free washing machine and dryer. On return from our days outing .. it was awesome to enter the room with the room being serviced. Great little quiet town but not many restaurants or cafes.

Two nights in Swansea was perfect. Quiet little town & Swansea Cottages was a great place to rest awhile. Our unit was very well equipped with everything you need. Appreciated fresh milk & having hand sanitiser available. Never seen a TV mounted on BIR door before but it worked well - open door for watching TV in bed or closed for watching from the couch. Loved having a bathtub to soak in too.

This place is incredible!! An absolute must stay if in Freycinet. The location is so beautiful with amazing views in all directions. The huts have the most gorgeous view looking at the bay - we star gazed all night and then we’re treated to a beautiful sunrise in the morning! The breakfast the next morning is also incredible, I would eat there even if I wasn’t a guest. The pain au chocolat is better than any I’ve had in France! I’d go there just for the pain au chocolat alone however the rest of the buffet and also menu options are to die for! The location is very close to coles bay and start of the walking tracks. Great value for money and very accomodation staff. A must stay.

Fantastic accommodation sadly for one night only. One thing we’ve learnt about Tasmania is that you tend to get amazing boutique accommodation or large mid range accommodation. Freycinet Lodge is the exception to the rule. Spectacularly placed with views to die for and lovely accommodation. We had a one bed and two bedroom apartment and both were fab with a wonderful outdoor bath. The lodge itself is welcoming and has a great bar downstairs where(weather permitting) you can sit out and watch the sun go down (or up) and have a sip whilst overlooking the breathtaking Coles Bay. Another must do on the East Coast and we’ll be back. Top nosh in the restaurant too. Special shout out to Holly who gave us fantastic service at dinner and breakfast. Loved every minute
