We spent 2 nights in Swakopmund & chose to stay at the this hotel because we felt it offered a good balance of price, location & quality. All in all we were very pleased with our stay and felt the hotel met all of these expectations. The rooms are clean, modern, light & airy and the bed one of the most comfortable we slept in during our trip. The bathroom is open to the rest of the room which didn't bother us being a married couple, but for people sharing a room as friends, it is just something to bear in mind. Swakopmund was surprisingly chilly during August being winter especially at night (it reminds us of a British summer lol!), so we were pleased to find that the AC can be used to heat the room as well, which came in handy in the evenings & early mornings. In terms of location, the hotel is great as there is parking outside with security to keep an eye on your car, the lighthouse & museum across the road and you are just a couple of mins walk in the other direction to the shops, cafes and restaurants. There is a great bar next door, one side of the hotel and a lovely Italian restaurant / pizzeria on the other side, so it was a good spot for dining too! The included breakfast was also great with a selection of toasts, fruits, cakes, juices etc as well as the option for cooked eggs, full English etc. The staff were all lovely & very helpful and we would gladly stay again & recommend the place to others!

This was my second stay at the Plaza Hotel and I was once again struck by the fact that the rooms are so beautiful and spacious. The hotel is walking distance to the cbd, the beach and many restaurants. Breakfast is good value for money too. Safe underground parking available.

We had an awesome time. The reception, stay and hospitality were top notch. We received great care and the responsiveness of the staff was great.

Das Hotel ist wunderschön. Vor 5 Jahren haben wir hier auch gut gegessen. Leider wurde uns diese Freude aktuell nicht zuteil. Der Kellner war freundlich und hat getan, was in seinen Möglichkeiten steht. Der Koch jedoch tat alles, um uns zu keiner Wiederkehr zu bewegen. Frei nach dem Motto „ blöde Touris“. Statt geröstetem Gemüse gab es zerkochten Brokkoli und jede Menge Pilze. Statt Reis waren Pommes auf dem Teller, das Gemüse auch hier zerkocht und auch nach der Reklamation fehlte die Currysoße und jegliches Gewürz. Auch die als Entschuldigung der Küche servierten Eiskugeln zum Teilen waren leider lieblos angerichtet. Ich tippe wirklich auf mangelndes Können. Meine Ortsansässigen lieben Verwandten waren auch enttäuscht und werden dort wohl nicht wieder dinnieren. Schade um diesen wunderschönen Ort.

Great location, double bed (rare in Namibian accommodation), nice and simple, secure parking. We stayed here, explored Swakopmund. It has great restaurants, friendly people who are all willing to help when needed. Near Walvis Bay: if you are a surfer try Dolphin Beach. I tried Donkey Bay, but was way beyond my skill level.

We had a wonderful time here! The apartment was beautiful with a stunning view of the beach. The restaurant, Salt, has some great food for both breakfast and dinner. Staff here were very kind and friendly to us. It is located right on the beach so you can go for a nice walk along the beach at any time. It’s between Swakopmund and Walvis Bay so has easy access to both towns for travellers. You’ll really enjoy your time here.

Das Hotel à la Mer ist eine perfekt gelegene Unterkunft in Swakopmund. Für Reisende mit Auto gibt es genügend Parkplätze am Haus, inklusive einer Garage. Die Zimmer sind ruhig und haben teilweise Blick aufs Meer und die Jetty. Von der Dachterrasse aus bietet sich ein herrlicher Rundblick über die Stadt. Ins Zentrum geht man gerade einmal fünf Minuten. Das Frühstück ist gut mit großer Auswahl und die Betten sind bequem. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es gibt auch eine Wäscherei, die preiswert innerhalb eines Tages arbeitet.
