130 km to the northeast from Kajaani, 27 km to the east from center of Suomussalmi, pond Mäntylampi (length 800 m, width 200 m) 25 m, deep beach, soft bottom, own rowing boat.

Planed log cabin, built in 1995. Living room, kitchenette, 2 bedrooms, both with 2 beds, sauna (wood-burning sauna stove), washroom/WC. On the upper floor, 2 rooms, both with 1 bed and a spreadable sofa, maximum height of rooms is 180 cm, sloping roof, steep and rough stairs.

The dishwasher is a small tabletop model. There is an air source heat pump in the cabin. It can be used for cooling during summer. Broadband Internet and satellite channels on TV.

Playhouse, doghouse (dogs are not allowed inside the cabin) and smoker.

Fireplace room with outdoor kitchen; key is available on request.

Cabin with amenities in a very calm location by the quite large pond. Terrain work on the beach is not ready yet. Water in the pond is dark.

The cabin is located nearby Raate Road, which is the known memorial site of Winter War. Raate Road is a historically significant museum road. By the road, there are multiple Battle of Raate Road related monuments. At the beginning of the road (8 km from the cabin) is a spectacular Winter War monument and a Winter War museum.

Hunting: state owned small game hunting area 5604 Itä-Suomussalmi begin from the opposite shore of pond Mäntylampi (www.eraluvat.fi).

Fishing: Fishing in pond Mäntylampi is permitted with fisheries management fee (www.eraluvat.fi).
