Initially, we made reservations at the Clarion Pointe Hotel in Erie, PA, for May 25-27. We planned to spend May 24th in Kentucky. However, our plans changed when we arrived at the Cleveland airport and got our rental car. I searched Priceline’s website to see if the Clarion Pointe was available for the 24th. It was. I made an online reservation for one night. When we arrived at the hotel, a male hotel staff was folding washcloths by himself (and working the front desk). He appeared visibly stressed. I asked if we could check in early. Check-in was scheduled for 3 pm, but he found a room and allowed us an early check-in around 1:00 pm or so. It was a welcome reprieve after a late-night flight and early morning of traveling. Since our second reservation (May 25-27) was the next day, I asked the Front Desk Clerk if we could stay in our room instead of checking out and checking in to another room the next day. Although he initially did not understand my request, he eventually understood and advised me to notify the staff in the morning. During check-in, he informed us that the pool was unavailable (no water was in it). Later, when my daughter and I arrived at our room, we inspected it and found it different from what we expected. Despite my daughter’s reluctance to stay, I reassured her that we had gotten a great deal on the hotel compared to other options in the area and that we only had to tough it out for a few days. We didn’t know the hotel was under renovation at the time of the booking. Also, the hotel looked nothing like it did in the posting on Priceline’s website. The view out our window was literally of a trash bin/dumpster for their extensive renovation. I decided to go to Sam’s Club and purchase some Febreeze and Member’s Mark disinfecting wipes to clean the room before we used anything. We returned and cleaned the room and were surprised at how dirty it was. Not only was it dirty, but the carpet under the air conditioning unit was overlapping, and the outlets on the lamps didn’t work. The bathroom was also dirty, but due to the hard non-porous floors, the disinfecting wipes helped. I took a shower and was disappointed again by the stained shower curtain, mold/grime in the soap compartment area, and the water pressure. One of the towels had some sort of stain on it, so I was short of what I could use to clean and dry off. After my shower, we left to get food and go around the town. While we were away from the hotel, I called Priceline and informed the rep that the hotel was not as advertised or what we expected. I took pictures and have my receipt from Sam’s of the items I purchased to clean the room. By the time we returned, we had procured other sleeping arrangements and checked out of the hotel. The Priceline rep contacted the hotel, which did not budge on not wanting to provide a refund for the upcoming reservation on May 25-27, which I don’t understand. We checked in on May 24th and out on May 24th. We never stayed at the ho
