This is a lovely hotel .. perfect location right next to the racecourse which is an absolute bonus ! First impressions are important and The Lodge staff were so welcoming, friendly , pleasant and helpful .. nice to see staff who really seem to enjoy their job. Our room was spotless and had everything we needed Bed was very comfy, nice smelling toiletries and fluffy towels . Yes the room was fairly small but no issue . Well stocked bar and pleasant atmosphere and appears to be popular with visitors and local residents alike . We also had a lovely cooked breakfast . We can’t fault The Lodge we had a great time . Thankyou we are planning to return in October .

Decent hotel, up to usual Premier Inn standards and handy central location. Only complaint was the check in machines were not working had to wait for staff to get checked in. Friendly service, but no late check out would have been handy as they had a lot of empty rooms. Very quiet room, ultra comfy bed, great shower. Good breakfast as expected but was near finishing time and not piping hot, so grab yours early. 4/5 recommended 👍

Outstanding customer service from Sanjay throughout our stay will definitely use this place again very convenient. But Sanjay really was the star of the show- he went above and beyond and always smiling thank you so much Sanjay. Will definitely recommend this travelodge

Rooms needed a bit of tlc, painting general maintenance. We only booked 2 nights but decoded to stay for additional 2, but room we were in was booked out. Was kindly offered a third off price of better quality accommodation

Ich habe im Zimmer Nr. 5, The Jack of Newbury für 2 Nächte im Dezember verblieben. Die Nacht vor und die Nacht meiner Hochzeit. Das Zimmer ist ein Studio mit einem wunderschönen tiefen Kupferbad im Zimmer. Das Hotel und das Restaurant/Pub selbst sind erstaunlich. Es fühlte sich so sauber, modern mit einem Land-/Vintage-Stil Dekor. Es war schön. Es wurde definitiv auf einen sehr hohen Standard mit einem fantastischen Innendesigner renoviert. Das Zimmer fühlte sich sehr luxuriös. Es gab jedoch ein paar Dinge, die auf meinen Aufenthalt gescheitert waren und vielleicht warum das Hotel noch nicht 5 Sterne erreicht hat, vor allem, da ich für meine Hochzeit bereit war. Ich habe bei der Buchung und vor meinem Aufenthalt erwähnt, dass dies eine Hochzeitsbuchung war, aber es gab überhaupt keine vollständige Länge Spiegel im Zimmer. Glücklicherweise war das Zimmer neben der Tür leer und die Tür war offen, so dass ich in und aus konnte pop in und prüfen meine Hochzeit Kleid usw.. aber wirklich, jedes Einzelzimmer im Hotel sollte einen vollen Längen Spiegel haben, das ist einfach nur wirklich Grund. Ich fragte die Rezeption, ob sie eine oder irgendwie helfen könnten und sie sagten, sie würden sie ansehen, aber ich hörte nie wieder. Ich war nur dankbar, dass das Zimmer neben der Tür leer war, sonst würde ich auf meine Hochzeit zurückkehren, ohne zu wissen, was ich aussah! Ich war auch auf dem höchsten Stock und das Abholen der sehr engen und steigenden Treppen in meinem Kleid war eine schreckliche Herausforderung!! Im Badezimmer meines Zimmers gab es keinen Handtücher-Radiator oder Toilettenrollhalter. Der Thermostat war auch schwierig zu navigieren und ich und der Nachbar am ersten Abend beide mussten mit den Fenstern offen schlafen, da das Zimmer so heiß war, aber da ich auf einer Hauptstraße war das Zimmer sehr laut, so dass mein Schlaf überall nicht fantastisch war, aber in allen Fairness an das Hotel Meine Nerven und Aufregung haben auch zum Schlafmangel beigetragen. Das ist alles, was hoffentlich leicht zu korrigieren ist, um die Aufenthalte in der Zukunft zu verbessern, Das Frühstück und das Abendessen bei den Hare & Hunden waren lecker und alle wartenden Mitarbeiter waren so freundlich und hilfreich. Obwohl, es wert zu bemerken, dass ich mein Frühstück gebeten, ohne Soßen zu kommen, aber mein Platte kam mit Soßen- obwohl dies nicht eine massive Frage für mich war, so entschloss ich mich, nicht zu kommen, um das am Tag als nicht das Ende der Welt, sondern wert Ich möchte hier eine Anmerkung machen. Insgesamt, ein wunderschönes Hotel/Pub/Restaurant und wenn diese Fragen behoben/verbessert/besser gemacht wurden, würde ich gern in Zukunft wieder zurückkehren. The missing details do let the refurbishment down I’m afraid and the mirror played a big issue in me getting ready so it is only a 3/5 for me on this occasion! :(

Nach dem Fahren vom Vendee und der Fähre über die scharfen Meere nahmen wir in diesem Travelodge auf. Vey gute Wert für Geld. Es kostete £29. Es war sauber, das Personal war freundlich, das Bett komfortable. Es gab ein Bqth und die üblichen Teamausstattung. Wir hatten mit wenigen Aufenthalten in dieser Art von Unterkunft in Frankreich reisen, aber diese Travelodge war besser. Natürlich ist es kein 5-Sterne-Hotel. Das ist nicht das Ziel, aber wir werden wieder bleiben.

We were meeting friends at the hotel as a centrepoint between two different areas of the country. We both arrived early and enquired as to whether we could check in early at around 2.15. We were told that wasn’t possible which we understood, it was the abrupt manner in which the message was conveyed that didn’t start our stay off to the best start. We were then told that the bar area was closed until 5 pm which seemed odd as we have never come across this on any previous visits to a Premier Inn. As a result we took ourselves off to the local Tesco cafe for a coffee and catch up. Returning to the hotel after the required check in time we were once again met with another moody and quite abrupt member of staff who made us feel unwelcome! On arrival to our room we found a small amount of toilet paper so we had to ask the housekeeping lady, who was still cleaning rooms, for a supply. We stayed for one night and, to be honest, didn’t meet any members of staff who were particularly friendly which is so unlike the service we expect from Premier Inn. Breakfast in the morning lacked the range and quality we are used to. The fruit salad was poor, the cooked breakfast was only warm, there were no pastries and the toaster was probably one of the worst we’ve ever had to tackle. When we went to check out there was no one on reception so we left our keys in the box. I needed to use the toilet before departure and so went into the ladies toilets in the foyer. The smell was so bad it made me heave. This was my last impression of this hotel, the worst Premier Inn I have been to and we have travelled extensively. I would happily have raised my issues with the Manager but yet again there was no one around. There seemed to be a complete lack of staff which maybe explains the mood of those present and overall not the standard of stay we are used to.
