Everything from the room, the staff to the food was brilliant. It was exactly what we were looking for for a family break. In a great location. We will definitely be coming back. Ps. Our son is now addicted to the cookie dough and ice cream from your restaurant!

Just returned from a couple of days away in Stamford for our Silver Wedding Anniversary. We stayed at the wonderful Bull and Swan. The hotel is lovely made extra special by the most friendly welcoming team. Everyone was wonderful, massive thanks to Jack who looked after us so well, going the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed…even when I was being slightly precious about toiletries.. The lady this morning, served our breakfast with a friendly smile….brilliant. The managers and everyone simply top class. We will absolutely return.. Thanks Team Bull and Swan..hospitality at its best.

Character property with lovely touches. We stayed in Porcupine, which is accessed via the garden. Torrential rain nearly had us stranded as the garden quickly flooded. Manager had an umbrella which we borrowed to go out but the property could benefit from a collection of them for guests. The main reason for the rating is the noise of banging doors is continuous. Why oh why have you not put soft close fittings on them? It’s so disruptive when it just doesn’t need to be. All the rooms face the road which didn’t bother me that much but I absolutely wouldn’t want to stay there in the summer. The room is cozy but this would make it stiffing on a hot day, and you wouldn’t want the window open as it’s ground level and of course street noise. All in all I wouldn’t be in a rush to come back. It’s an expensive place for the noise you have to endure!

I had a good sized room up its own staircase above the bar. A large comfortable four poster double bed, and an excellent coffee machine. The room has a roll top bath and high quality products such as shampoo, bath soak etc. The decoration made it feel like you had a room in the nearby Burghley House. Although the room overlooks the road, I was not disturbed by road noise, nor noise from the bar. The staff were friendly and helpful in answering questions. the only quirk to bear in mind is that the parking is at their sister property, which is only c.100 yards away so not a problem for me. I would come back next time I'm working in Peterborough.

Very nice historic inn. Good size room and comfy bed. Good breakfast, atmospheric bar below. You get a half price voucher for Burgley House if you ask. We also had their Sunday roast which was tasty with lots of good veg and gravy. Only downsides are that the room was a bit noisy with voices from below and traffic outside but all quiet after 10pm or so. And my wife prefers a hand held shower as well as the overhead one.

Historic building full of character & charm, twisty stairs & low beams. Staff were all fantastic, cheerful & very helpful. We were lucky & were able to park almost outside, but the option of free parking just up the road was good. The main road is very busy which meant that with a room on the front with the windows open on a hot night, it was very noisy. There was a fan provided, which was also very noisy. Food was very good, with fresh ingredients from their own veg & herb garden at the back. Dinner here is worth considering; though my pork schnitzel was dry, the burgers are first class. Breakfast too was very tasty. Very central location.

Staff were good and helped us to the room, and breakfast was good. Beyond that the room was so hot neither of us slept. Only way to cool the room was with a noisy fan and a street level window that allowed some air and the traffic noise in. We tried to engage the manager but not available. We got a response that said they will review, but this is a very poor response from a business the prides itself on quality and charges prices to reflect this. Despite our reply we have heard no further. We are genuinely gutted because it should have been a fantastic night in what was a lovely pub.

The staff were all helpful and charming. My dinner sitting out in the garden area was tasty and the house red hit the spot. There was a delightful slightly idiosyncratic feel - the reverse of corporate insincerity Will stay again when in Stamford

Great overnight stay, lovley hotel with a country pub feel together with a good pint of local ale The room was very clean with good hot water & shower, good choice at breakfast, well presented The staff were vey welcoming who went the extra mile, nothing was too mutch trouble We will definatly rebooking, well done the team at the Bull & Swan
