The hotel is located a short walk from the town centre, close to the coastline. The rooms are fairly basic but contain all the essentials. Staff at the hotel were friendly and efficient. The cooked breakfast was not great - but the other breakfast options were fine.

It was the perfect retreat after a night of festivities. The Gala Dinner The New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner was a culinary masterpiece. Each dish on the menu showcased the creativity and expertise of the hotel’s chefs. We began with the Tempura King Prawns, which were crisp and perfectly seasoned, a delight for seafood lovers. The Avocado, Smoked Salmon, and Crab Quenelle was a harmonious blend of flavors, while the Creamed Spinach Tartlet was a warm and comforting vegetarian option. The second course offered a choice of Shellfish Bisque, a rich and aromatic soup, or Raspberry Sorbet, a refreshing palate cleanser—both were sublime. For the main course, the Fillet of Beef Wellington was a standout, with its tender beef encased in golden pastry. The Herbed Lamb Cutlets were cooked to perfection, and the Pan-Fried Turbot was light, flaky, and accompanied by a delightful sauce. I have just experienced a super Christmas week at the Hotel Ambassadeur in Jersey Channel Islands. My Wife and I are fairly regular visitors to this delightful, comfortable hotel. The rooms are of a good size, well maintained and very clean. All the staff were wonderful from the minute we arrived at reception. The staff in the bar and dining room were extremely efficient and friendly as were the house-keeping team. The breakfast offered very good choices. Christmas Day and Boxing Day lunch menus were excellent and delicious. It was a delight to be there and we look forward to our next return.

My husband organised a convention here and it was brilliant due to the excellent food and service. The rooms were very comfortable and the lounge area too. There is nothing that I could find a fault with, even the" loo paper" was good. Well done Hotel Ambassadeur. The location is brilliant for the local buses.

Enjoyed a short break at this hotel and overall were very happy with the accommodation. The hotel do what they do very well for what appears to be a target audience of traditional over 60s + (well it was in September). We liked: * The location by the beach * The bus stops outside with regular buses into St Helier (and connections beyond eg airport) or Gorey. £2.35 per total journey anywhere contactless. * The bed (super king size) * Excellent blackout curtains * The staff - outstanding in customer service & helpfulness * The breakfasts * The cleanliness of the hotel * Well stocked bar * Fast reliable Wi-Fi * Nearby M&S Food We weren’t keen on: * The heat in the room - stifling at times. No air con. * The retirement home vibe when we were there. Hotel is great for older guests who value old fashioned table service, plain menus eg soup, roast meat & veg meals, fruit cocktail mix at breakfast etc. All very nice but younger guests might feel put off. Good value 4 course dinner price though tbf. * Old fashioned rooms. Maybe other rooms have been upgraded but ours had an avocado bathroom suite and plastic shower curtain. Basic tea & coffee sachets etc but no fridge. Also old school small single use plastic toiletry shampoo & shower gel. We didn’t use the pool, tired looking games room or the terrace. Overall would recommend especially for older guests but some upgrading will be needed before long to appeal to younger people.
