La Bastiglia

This is only 1 of 2 hotels during my 7 week stay in Europe that beat my expectations! Just walk by this place and you'll want to stay there. I went in April 2023 so prices were low and I went with a room that had a very large shared patio with amazing views! Nobody else was using the patio so that didn't hurt my positive experience. Staff was very nice and a pleasure to see. Breakfast was included was a nice bonus! I had to book on their website (vs *********** or **********) but got a confirmation number and all worked out.

Beautiful location with the most lovely terrace with spectacular views, perfect for sitting with an Aperol Spritz. Yes, the room we had shared a terrace but no one was either side of us so not a problem. The room was very clean and a very comfortable bed. There is a little fridge but you need to hunt under the tv or you might miss it. We arrived too late to enjoy the pool and were leaving the next day. Great breakfast, lots of very fresh salad. The coffee machine at breakfast was initially a bit disappointing but the coffee was quite good. Really good location with a beautiful stroll into the town.

We have just spent a wonderful ten days at La Bastiglia and we’re looked after so kindly by the great team of young workers - Arianna, Chiara, Eri, Daniel, Mattia and one other whose name I lost - for whom nothing was too much trouble. Every morning and evening we were welcomed by their smiling faces and they helped to make our stay very special. We hope to return in the future.

The views are amazing. Breakfast was great. Finding a parking space was impossible, but that's also true in everywhere in Spello. There are many stairs from the lobby to the street.

Arrival at the hotel reception we were met by a rude lady that after asking for our passports, stated we could pick up them up three hours later. Said she needed to put in our information. Returned three hours later, it was still not ready. Paid extra for an updated/deluxe room with terrace. We received a tired old room that was not clean and a shared terrace with three other rooms. Weather was warm and air-conditioning was turned off. Went to the front desk and she refused to turn it on, said she was cold. She then said we could just open up the patio doors. Well, couldn't do that without hearing other guests on the shared patio or smelling smoke from their cigarettes. There was also a smoke stack from the kitchen on our patio which we smelled constantly. Not to mention it was not safe to have doors open with other guests having access. What a bad experience, avoid this hotel!!!

It was too hot - they had some issues with the heater. The spa is 30 euros per person for 90 min usage and is not included in the cost of the hotel. Parking is 5 euros per day. Breakfast is good - the room and the location is quite good. Overall a good value for the cost but please note the spa is additional

Siamo arrivati in data 23 Marzo, e già dall’arrivo avevamo capito cosa ci sarebbe aspettato.. Abbiamo prenotato una Junior Suite Laura, la ragazza della reception rispondeva alle telefonate dicendoci di attendere un attimo che ci avrebbe accompagnato (ovunque il cliente ha la precedenza sulle telefonate che si ricevono) ma veniamo al dunque, camera spaziosa ma sporca, sui termosifoni c’era almeno un dito di polvere, abbiamo fatto un giro a spello e poi siamo rientrati in albergo per provare la spa. La spa era piccola e poco igienica, ad esempio avevano un lenzuolo su delle sedute massaggianti e le signore che la gestivano non cambiavano il lenzuolo che quindi era bagnato e usavano tutti gli ospiti (una cosa orribile). Terminata la SPA, DICIAMO, siamo rientrati in camera per la doccia, abbiamo posato il soffione sul pavimento per poter poggiare il nostro bagnoschiuma in quanto non vi era una soluzione per poggiare i prodotti da bagno, e questo non era un problema in quanto si poteva decidere da dove far uscire il getto dell’acqua, e in questo caso non dal soffione mobile ma da quella con stazione fissa, terminata la doccia ci siamo accorti che il bagno si era allagato completamente tanto è vero che prima di cena lo abbiamo detto in reception e hanno asciugato il pavimento. Abbiamo chiesto alla ragazza della reception dove si potesse mangiare e la ragazza ha risposto che c’era solo una pizzeria al taglio lì vicino, allora abbiamo deciso di mangiare in hotel, solo dopo, facendo una passeggiata, ci siamo resi conto che li attorno c’erano molte osterie dove poter cenare, forse voleva convincerci a cenare in struttura? Ma nemmeno questo è stato un problema in quanto la cena comunque in hotel era squisita, forse la cosa che abbiamo apprezzato di più oltre all’ospitalità e cordialità di un cameriere (quello alto con i capelli chiari). La mattina dopo prima di andare a fare colazione sono entrata in doccia, l’acqua usciva gelata e a filo tanto è vero che ci ha impossibilitato di lavarci. A quel punto mi sono subito rivestita e ho chiamato la ragazza della reception che è venuta in camera per vedere la situazione e ha risposto dicendo “eh ma non è colpa nostra, c’è un problema in zona, di sopra il problema è stato risolto”. In un 4 stelle non ci aspettiamo una risposta del genere, ci saremmo aspettati una risposta del tipo “guarda, vedo dove il problema è stato risolto così da poter andare in un’altra camera per fare la doccia” invece la ragazza oltre ad aver risposto male ha chiamato il proprietario della struttura che con grande maleducazione mi ha detto “ signora, lei ieri sera ha allagato il bagno volutamente, ora ci sta dicendo che l’acqua non esce e che è fredda questo solo per avere uno sconto” non mi lasciava parlare e spiegare tanto è vero che ho risposto dicendo solamente che mi stava dando della bugiarda, che il bagno non era stato allagato volutamente ma c’era un problema evidente in doccia, che il soffione era stato poggiato a terra c

Situato nella parte più alta di Spello, posizione bellissima. Il personale veramente molto cortese. Le camere, vetuste, poco curate e poco pulite, con materassi scomodissimi e la colazione composta principalmente da torte dolci e biscotti industriali così come il pane e i succhi di frutta non sono conformi alle quattro stelle dichiarate, forse arrivano a stento a tre. Buone le uova strapazzate ma la pancetta era praticamente una sfoglia di grasso croccante. Tra l’altro non c’erano opzioni per allergici ed intolleranti al glutine e al lattosio (neanche il latte senza lattosio) Peccato perchè la posizione merita così come la struttura esterna ma vanno assolutamente rimodernate le stanze (almeno quelle con il giardino in cui abbiamo soggiornato, le altre non le ho viste) e migliorata la colazione. Con tutti i fantastici prodotti umbri non dovrebbe essere difficile
