Domaine de Montboulard

What a fabulous place. We ended up staying and extra night as we loved it so much. A peaceful retreat with wonderful gites and they also offer B&B. Emma was such a great host and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the duplex gite and it was spacious, clean and we even had fresh bread and pastries delivered to our door every morning. The grounds are superb with a large heated swimming pool. I would 100% recommend its a wonderful place to relax and a great location to explore the area.

An unexpected change in plans had my husband and I looking for a place (at the last minute) to stay in Charente. I was not optimistic as we had our three dogs with us. Ugh. What kind of place would accept us? I was over the moon to discover that Domaine de Montboulard would, Their first star came when they suggested which gite would be best/most comfortable for us. Second came with the casual, warm welcome on our arrival. Third came with the spacious, comfortable, and CLEAN rooms with our own enclosed backyard. Fourth was that despite freezing temperatures (it was January), the rooms were toasty warm, yet with the high ceilings and space, were never stifling. The fifth star might be because of the endless walks around the grounds and surrounding forest, or maybe, the convenience to shops, boulangerie and just about anything you want within minutes. No, I think the fifth comes because the owners were so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. NOTE: don't let the fact that they take pets put you off. Their accommodations are clean and fresh!

Le cadre est magnifique, l’accueil au top (y compris pour les animaux !), et les gîtes individuels vraiment sympas, avec chacun leur jardinet, bbq, équipement et literie impec. Seuls (petits) reproches : - qualité du débit internet très moyenne (à oublier si vous comptez bosser en Visio…) - manque un petit mémo adapté à chaque gîte (par exemple dans le notre : où trouver l’interrupteur pour éclairer dehors, etc). Suggestion : mettre un éclairage à détecteur, ou quelques lampes solaires côté jardinets… histoire de ne pas rater la marche quand on rentre de nuit -;) Bref, un endroit vraiment chouette, très paisible, et pourtant très proche du centre d’Angoulême.

Deumeure typique de la Charente, dans la forêt de Soyaux, grande cour accueillante, belles chambres spacieuses, confort moderne, rénovée avec goût, tres bonne literie. Parking , petit dejeuner convivial et complet. Accueil multilingues parfait

Merveilleuse nuit dans ce domaine, c'est calme, joli et très convivial. Recus par EMMA, charmante hôtesse. La chambre ( suite) était spacieuse, propre et fonctionnelle. Excellente literie, un plateau de courtoisie, etc...Hâte d'y retourner
