Car park and outside of building aren't the most attractive.
Was told on arrived that kitchen closed for food at 6pm which seems a bit early so sadly missed dinner.
Bedroom was pleasant enough to look at but pillows very flat and bed not that comfy.
Curtains didn't quite close properly in the middle so I had light beaming into my bedroom from sunrise.
Bathroom wasn't very clean atall, the grout was disgusting and mould around bath with hairs that definitely weren't mine also in the bath.
Lake check out time of 11am was good though and nice to have a pub downstairs, even if you can't get food after 6pm.

This inn was the worst experience we have had of a stay in the UK. At 2 am on the second night of our stay someone entered our room using a duplicate passkey whilst we were asleep.He did retreat when I confronted him and my wife screamed but then with several friends proceeded to scream shout and play loud music/TV from 2am to 4.30 am. We had to barricade our bedroom door. It turned out that there were no staff on the premises. The management attitude has been that we were responsible for our own security at night?????. Several other issues were apparent namely the lack of advised food availability other than breakfast-contrary to the advertised home cooked restaurant meals. However this pales into relative insignificance compared to the serious security issues with this hotel/inn

Went in for lunch. Was early, so decided to wait. Service is appalling. Bought my son a drink, he said it tasted funny, it was out of date so i took it back. I told the guy behind the bar and he said he'd pass the message on. I never heard anything back so went back to the bar. I mentioned to the barlady about it, she said oh yeah. Must have been the only out of date bottle in the fridge. She obviously had been informed yet made absolutely zero effort to rectify us at our table, or make an effort to replace it. 2 of the staff just stood outside the front door puffing fags and stinking the place up. Paid for my 1 drink and we left. Worst service I've ever seen. Shambles probably isn't a strong enough word but I'd rather not be vile, although it deserves it. Dump!!!

I didn't stay at Marsden Inn but had food and drinks there on two occasions. The first occasion I had no complaints but the second occasion I ordered a steak and chicken sizzler. The chicken was dry and the steak was over cooked. At the time of ordering I asked for my steak to be cooked medium rare. When I later complained to the staff member he said that because it was on a sizzling platter it would continue cooking after being served. I was not advised of this when I ordered. Had I been told this I would have ordered something else. The plate was also swimming in oil!! Not a nice meal at all. No apology offered by the staff member. Probably won't be eating there again!!

Lovely welcoming staff, room was clean and bed was comfortable. The room lacked water pressure so shower a disappointment. Breakfast not served until 9am so we did not sample as too late for us!! We left at 8am to find a staff member asleep at the top of the stairs and looked so cosy and comfortable we left them there and let ourselves out of the back door!! Would stay again as was very friendly and convenient for us!!

Booked this hotel for a few days and what a great choice. See below Location. It is located approx 200 yards from a fabulous beach, which was stunning. Food. Good choice menu not to big a choice but well priced and it was nicely presented. Breakfast. Very very good full English well worth going for it. Room. Nice and clean, great comfortable bed Issues. Generally could do with a make over, and the water pressure in my room was very low.

Visited on a saturday tea time, we have eaten here previously and its been ok..However this time was an absolute desaster..We asked at the bar on entering the pub if food was still being served, the young bar maid had no idea, then said i think it is, til 8pm..we went to the bar to order to be told, no lasagne, no beef fahitas, so tried again..My daughter ordered chicken kiev, we also ordered two curries, and chicken fahitas and two bowls of chips...We waited 50 minutes for the food no one advised us of a delay..the chicken kiev came out and was notjing more than garlic puree spread on top of the chicken...chips were dry and not pleasant...we asked the barman to sort it, he said he was too busy and we would have to be quick, then scurried off....we then managed to get someone to sort it, sat awhile, the meal came out, my daughter asked to see the manager, and was told he was busy but said sorry....absolutely shocking, if a manager cannot come out to speak to disgruntled customers then thats not good enough...we certainly will not be back....

Unwelcoming staff not interested in the hotel rooms or the quests. Dirty carpet in the room very run-down place in desperate need of a refurb. Breakfast was pathetic as was the overall service. The restaurant needed a clean. The only good thing was the location.

Hotel was lovely newly refurbished,But I don't like doors propped open with a fire extinguisher on a evening,there were no staff on a morning and this was at 8.45.I struggled to exit the building for a course I was on.Just luck that I found a door,it's a bit worrying when the number for the Hotel rings out of hours the number was engaged 3 times and the other number was for a member of staff that left 6 months ago.Sad that was not restaurant on Monday and Tuesday but they close at 4pm,so an evening meal wasn't a option.Lucky they allow you to order takeaway.Its 2 minutes to the beach and it's a lovely place to stay.But I think they should be staff on over night.
