Madawaska lodge is closed! Has been since Nov. 2023. Owner abandoned the property. Do not book, there is no one there. I do not know why there is still a listing to rent, but I can assure you it is empty. Many people from around the globe have made reservations only to show up to a closed lodge. Not sure if they ever got their money back

We stayed for just under a week in one of the cabins on site and we have nothing but positive things to say. To start with we have to make a special mention about Steve, Steve was absolutely brilliant and definitely added to our enjoyment of our time at the lodge. Nothing we asked for was too much hassle and he’s a fantastic and fun host. (He does a great owl impression - be sure to ask). We also met Ray one evening and he was also super lovely. The main lodge has access to a pool table and a projector to watch movies on. They also have a restaurant on site and although we’d bought food with us we actually ended up eating in the restaurant most nights! (Steve does a great veggie burger and the BEST onion rings ever). Food was a really reasonable price and portion sizes were great. You can also buy drinks/alcohol too. The cabins were lovely and cozy, we stayed mid October and didn’t find the cabins too cold. Really handy having a mini fridge in there for all our snacks! The cabin was clean and only a stone’s throw from the outhouse loo (but if you don’t want to use that they have toilets in the main lodge you can use). We found the shower to have hot water and a decent pressure and the little kitchen area next door enabled us to prep sandwiches. Location was great, easy access to the east gate for Algonquin, if you want to stay on site they have a gorgeous lake 800 or so metres away where you can use their kayaks and canoes! We even saw a baby moose just outside the drive! Would definitely stay again and would definitely recommend!

Only positive things to say about this newly owned establishment! Hosts were kind, helpful and very hospitable. The food served is delicious and the bottomless coffee (Tim’s) is fabulous. The lodge is very clean and comfortable as are the rooms and beds. Highly recommend to Algonquin hiker’s, ATVer’s and snowmobiler’s as all are welcome! Thanks to Christina, Ray and Steve for a great visit!
