The Hotel St. Ellis has the best breakfast buffet I've found anywhere, compared to at least a dozen hotels in the U.S. It also has a small but wonderful swimming pool, very good service, and a terrific shower. The biggest negative is that it provides absolutely no written instructions for operating the air conditioning, the TV, the Wifi, and the lights. It provides just one room key, no matter how many people are staying in the room. The air conditioning goes off at night, and can be restarted only by standing on a chair and pressing the button, but they don't tell you that. My wife and I suffered from overheating on the first night. Operating the TV requires pressing 2 or 3 buttons. The room has a power key -- a plastic card that must be inserted on a slot to get any electricity. I had to ask a staff member to connect by phone by WiFi on the ground floor and again on the 3rd floor, because they have 2 different systems. It took my wife and me a full day to figure everything out. The other family members, in another room, never did figure out the air conditioning, and suffered through all 3 nights. It would take the hotel staff less than an hour to write out all these instructions on a single page and print a copy for each room, but they don't bother. If they did, I would give the hotel 4 and a half stars. Other members of my family were so confused by the lack of instructions that they gave the hotel just 3 stars. Their other complaint was that the walls on the stairway are in serious need of painting and repair, but this didn't really bother me. Please, Hotel St. Ellis: get off your butts and write out the instructions!

Was sie mir nicht gesagt haben, ist, dass der Frontdesk am Ende des Geschäftstages schließt. So kam ich mit einem Taxi um 8 Uhr. Der Fahrer zeigte mich auf eine dunkle helle Treppe ...it ist die grau gefüllte Treppe hinter den doppelten Glastüren neben Das Massage-Spa. Es gibt keine Zeichen vorne sagen, dass es ein Hotel im Gebäude gibt. Es gibt kein Zeichen auf der Tür sagen, dass dies die Tür zum Hotel ist. Es gibt kein Zeichen sagen, dass das Hotel auf der zweiten Etage beginnt (wo der Frontdesk ist geschlossen und dunkel.) So habe ich die Nummer, die mich früher kontaktiert und etwa fünf Minuten später jemand mit meinem Schlüssel für mein Zimmer (#5) auf dem dritten Stock aufgetaucht. (Es gibt keinen Aufzug. Kein Klingelmann, um Ihre Gepäck zu tragen.) Mein Zimmer hatte keine Fenster. Nicht einmal ein kleines im Badezimmer. Kein Telefon, das macht Sinn, weil das Frontbüro häufiger geschlossen als nicht. Vent-Fan war laut. Aircon funktionierte sehr gut, aber das war schön. Fernsehkabel war fuzzy, aber beobachtbar. Es gibt einen Kühlschrank, der nicht sehr kalt wird. Internet war ausreichend, aber würde keine Rennen gewinnen. Sie haben einen Spender in der Dusche mit drei Wahlen, von denen zwei leer waren, aber es schien ein paar Tropfen Shampoo verfügbar (Ich reise immer mit meiner eigenen Seife Bar für nur Orte wie diese, die beunruhigt werden können, um zu überprüfen, dass ihre Zimmer Sie sind gelagert, bevor sie sie vermieten.) Dusche war marginal ...Niedrige Druck und der Duschekopf war zu groß für den niedrigen Druck. Sie hatten eine handhaltige Sprühdüse für das WC, die immer schön ist. Ich blieb 4 Nächte, von denen drei ziemlich ruhig. Keine Fenster bedeutet kein Verkehrslärm, obwohl das Hotel nicht auf einer High-Traffic-Straße ist. Ich denke, es gab keine anderen Gäste in den anderen zwei Zimmern auf meinem Stock, bis letzte Nacht, als die Leute neben der Tür bewegten und laut geöffnet und ihre Tür alle zehn oder fünfzehn Minuten geschlossen (wahrscheinlich ein Raucher ausging. ) Kein Telefon, um ein geschlossenes Büro zu rufen, um sie zu bitten, sich bewusst zu sein, dass sie nicht das Zentrum des Universums sind. Ich war bereit, dieses Hotel bei meinem nächsten Besuch bis zum geräuschlichen Gespräch letzte Nacht zu verwenden. Zeit, um irgendwo anders zu suchen. Ein sehr schönes Ding ....das Hotel ist nur neben der Metro Mall, auch die Pacific Mall genannt, auch die Gaisano Mall genannt (und es hat auch einen anderen Namen, aber ich habe nicht ganz diesen gefangen.)

In spite of the previous bad reviews I booked this hotel as they were reopening which I thought meant they have improved the hotel. They should have not opened yet at this stage where they are still fixing the hotel rooms and amenities. Maybe when they're finished renovating and they're fully open, it would be a better time to stay. Stay away if you want a comfy hotel stay. There were 2 incidents of brownout during our stay, on the 2nd one they couldn't fix the problem in our room, while the other rooms had electricity. Maintenance had to go inside our room in the middle of the night. They tried to fix it but eventually had us transfer to a different room at almost 1am. Then we were hoping to sleep in, as we were tired from the previous night's issue, but at 7am the noise of drilling woke us up. Food: Disappointing food choices. They have a restaurant and a coffeeshop. Good coffee and pastries. But on the main restaurant, there were only 3 food choices in our entire 4-day stay: bicol express bagnet, sinigang bagnet and hainanese chicken. Breakfast was dismal, plated tapa/longganisa and egg, then 2nd option bread, ham, egg and sweet sausage. The taste was just okay. At one point we opted to have a breakfast buffet instead at a nearby hotel (M*r*s*n Hotel). Room: The view is definitely fantastic and our room was near the swimming pool which I appreciated. But the room is small. No trashcan in the bathroom, no hangers and laundry bags, but they promptly provided after I asked for it. No rack for towels. No hair dryer and they can't provide one when I asked for it as another guest is currently using it. The bed is not comfy, it is hard and no available room with a king-sized bed. Random noises from the work they're doing in the other rooms so you can't really relax or sleep at day time. One of the keycards kept on malfunctioning so I kept on going back to the lobby to have it reset. Others: Definitely great views and location. Wide open spaces but common areas are usually warm as the airconditioning is off on most areas. Lobby restroom appears clean but smells awful. There is no hand sanitizer or soap. Overall value: Php 5k promo rate and 7k for regular rate per night. It was not worth it. Spa: The staff and massage was great but the spa is still on the works, I even had to play music from my phone as their amenities are incomplete. They could have at least warned us that the hotel is not yet fully functional and renovated. Or they couldv'e just fixed the hotel first before having guests. Staff: The hotel staff was the gem of the hotel as they did their best in spite of the poor situation. They were kind, friendly, quick to respond and professional. Everyone was very helpful and easy to deal with.

Standard Zimmer (Einzelbesetzung) kostet Php 2,000 pro Nacht. Sehr begrenzte Parkplätze. Allerdings ist es gut ... nur wenige Meter von der Hauptstraße, der Kathedrale, der Gemeindehalle und so weiter entfernt.
