The Madrona

We loved this wonderful hotel! We were celebrating our anniversary, and there was a lovely handwritten note left for us in the room. We also had another note, with some freshly picked wildflowers, at our table at dinner. (separate review for the restaurant!) We had a bungalow room, and it was lovely! A small private patio off to the side, a sitting room, bedroom with another sitting area with a fireplace. So cozy and romantic. All the decor was so lovely and unique. Not like a cookie cutter hotel room. The bathroom was large, and had heated floors!!! Loved that so much. Nice shower with plenty of water pressure, nice amenities, cozy robe. The only complaint was that the whole place was a little dark, but it was fine. A small fridge and minibar, which we didn’t use except to keep some food we had with us. Breakfast is included, and there was always something hot (one day was delicious scrambled eggs, another was a fruit porridge/muesli dish) plus coffee, juices, yogurt, and small breakfast pastries. Everyone was so pleasant too! When we checked in, we were offered a glass of champagne from nearby Orsi vineyards. It was delicious. (We actually went over there one afternoon and had a 2 for 1 tasting, as guests of the Madrona and bought some champagne.) Charles, the maître d, was so welcoming and helpful. Joe helped with parking & bags. We absolutely loved our stay and look forward to visiting again.

I recently hosted a group of members from our social club at The Madrona for a weekend and we had a wonderful experience from beginning to end. Arielle and Rachel were exceptionally accommodating and helpful in planning our stay, ensuring we had every detail covered including transportation to nearby wineries, dining recommendations and thoughtful touches on-site to take our experience to the next level. The property is stunning and every staff member welcomed us warmly and was ready to assist with any need at the drop of a hat. This is a team that goes above and beyond at a property that perfectly combines the serene lifestyle of Wine Country with refine elegance. We look forward to returning soon.

The interior designs are one of a kind! Love this gem nestled in wine country. Provides a magical experience and memories for a lifetime. I came with my sisters for my birthday and we had the perfect wine tasting, food tasting, music delight get away here at Madrona in Healdsburg ✨️

Beautiful property, elevated service, for the discerning traveler. Exceeded our expectations, will definitely return. The grounds are serene and the views are magical. First class property in every regard. Comfortable room, loved the heated bathroom floors and bath products.

We decided to try The Madrona for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. The grounds and buildings are undeniably beautiful that created a wonderful first impression. The magic ended the moment we walked into The Madrona. The Bartender was young and inexperienced, did not have the tools to garnish any drinks and was definitely struggling. We requested inside seating and the hostess immediately took us to the patio where it was 103 degrees. We said we reserved inside, she said ok and we had a wonderful corner table with a nice mansion feel ambiance. (Odd, we noticed, the hostess try and seat every patron outside and no one would budge) It wasn't until we were almost finished with our main entrees that the hostess placed a tent card on our table with a flower and said this is for you.... it was a Happy Anniversary card. (Odd that she didn't say Happy Anniversary) The different items we chose were just "ok" we were expecting a Michelin star experience (per the sign at the entrance) however, there wasn't a single experience that said "Oh my goodness, this is the best bite ever." Everything was under seasoned and underwhelming. One would expect that the $72.00 Wagyu NY Strip would be something to write about. But I digress. So many other fantastic upscale restaurants in Healdsburg that truly care about their patrons, quality of their dishes and provide a memorable experience. Very young crew working. They were "cordial" and the vibe was not welcoming, sincere or thoughtful. We will not be returning or recommending.

We had the most perfect weekend! Every detail was special and sophisticated. The rooms were beautiful and every detail was covered- comfiest beds, most stunning decor, heated bathroom floors. One hour flight from Los Angeles, twenty minutes to wine country... perfect weekend getaway! It was excellent!
