Lucky Homes

We chose Lucky Homes quite unintentionally since some other places we tended to stay, they were all full at that time. However, it turned out to be a very wise choice. We felt satisfied at the very first moment when we arrived there. Flowers were in full bloom with attractive fragrance, impressive landscape, just next to the Son river. It was so peaceful, unlike the noisy and crowded atmosphere in the central town. The room is basic but clean with two big beds for our 4, reasonable at the price of VND 750,000/night (about $30). It excludes breakfast but we can order or easily find at many restaurants nearby. The homestay restaurant is quite outstanding with both Western and local food. We decided to book all the dinners there. How wonderful to enjoy the meal after a long exploring day with your loved ones next to the river in a summer breeze. It's an unforgettable moment for us. Our children also like the swimming pool very much. The host is very nice and helpful. We definitely will come back!

Very accommodating. Clean. Friendly. Spacious. Food was very good, as well. Price was very reasonable. We arrived at an ungodly hour (0330hrs) & were given a spot to rest. Check in was not until 1400, but when the morning manager came, she put us in a room before 0600. She made sure we had breakfast & were ready to meet our tour group by 0830. 10/10 recommend stay here.

I can’t rate this homestay high enough (and totally disagree that it’s run down as stated in another review). It’s clean, it’s basic, it’s friendly and Siem, our host, whilst adorable, could not do enough for us even after we checked out when she arranged for a friend to look after us in a nearby town for several hours whilst we waited for a train. The cost of our stay was great value whilst not being compromised by how cheap it was. Highly recommend.

We had such a lovely stay at this delightful homestay. Bình who speaks perfect English was so helpful - even booked our train tickets! He was honest though when you could easily do a tour yourself or you needed a guide. He was a genuine help to us and as we have lived in VN for years we could tell :) The homestay is perfectly located on the riverfront and breakfast on the shore is just beautiful. The pool is deep which is necessary in VN summer or you don’t cool off. There’s a a shallow end too and lifejackets for littlies. They make yummy banana pancakes for breakfast and you can easily get your laundry done there for buttons. We used the push bikes to easily ride into town. We also walked there no problem. We’d opt to stay here again though as the riverfront is the place to be for real relaxation. Phòng Nhà town didn’t hold much interest for us and is full of backpacker hostels, bars etc. so again much better to stay on the river and bike in for dinner if needed although you have Victory Road Villas a few doors town for really lovely food. We loved the dog and her 7 puppies! If you go please give her some sausages from us - she’s an amazing solo mum!

The Homestay is so lovely, the rooms are clean and you have lots of space. But the best of it is the owner, he and his whole family are so nice, we arrived in the middle of the night with the nightbus and they had prepared a bed for us, so we could rest a little more. They could help us with any question we had, as they speak good english. On our last day, we had to leave before breakfast, so they prepared a care package for us. If I ever go to Phong Nha again, this is definitely the place where I will stay!

Stayed here for three nights and for what we paid it was excellent. The staff and family are friendly and polite. The pool is great at the end of a hot day and we hired motorbikes and cycles on site. We only had breakfast here which was good and freshly cooked, and beers were very reasonable in price. Bed was comfy, room was spacious and the bathroom was huge with a good shower. Lovely location just outside the main drag and quiet but easy to get to other places. We usually stay further from town but this was perfect as the town slowly reopens post COVID. Nothing not to like.
