Lavender Cove was a real treat for us on our two week trip to Greece, mainland and islands. The hotel/resort has recently renovated apartment units and pool/grounds. Our unit had a was water view and was a two bedroom with an efficiency kitchenette. The grounds were pristine and offer a short walk to a small beach. Highlights were lovely pool, great view of the harbor and village of Korfos, drinks by the pool, easy walk into the village, free bikes to use, great drop off breakfast in the morning, and Zara and Faisal who run the place were very nice, kind, personable and efficient! Thank you. One night we has a simple meal of pizza and Greek salad served on the patio above the pool, and it was a delightful evening. The pool menu is limited but fine. We cooked in one night and took advantage of all the herbs growing on the property. Also, the first restaurant on the way into the village on the water (Celana Restaurant) was excellent and our most memorable meal in 2 weeks in Greece. It's a 10 minute walk, tops. My only complaints about the hotel is our shower was very narrow and parking was tight/difficult. In terms of location, Korfos is about an hour and a half drive from Athens and about an hour and fifteen minutes to the archaeological sites in and around Nafplio (the main center in the area). While the restaurants seemed fine in Korfos for traditional Greek fare, the two supermarkets are tiny and offer very little fresh meat and vegetables. They are better for snacks and beverages. We shopped at a supermarket near Nafplio on one of our outings. Lavender Cove seemed perfect for a week or so of 'chilling' with perhaps a few day trips. If you're agenda is to hit all the ruins and old towns, it is a little out of the way. After a few busy days in noisy Athens, we appreciated the solitude and nature of Lavender Cove. Also, one night most of the other guests left for a German wedding, so we had the place to ourselves. Our own private resort. I would certainly recommend the hotel to others. Again thanks again to Zara and Faisal for all that they do.
