This restaurant and hotel is worth a visit (actually more than once)! We stayed at the hotel and had dinner as well. Great food, great hospitality and competent staff. Red beets never were my cup of tea, but chef Michael changed my mind. The velvety soft and creamy red beet soup was very delish (I even wanted to lick the bowl). I thought I didn't like herring, but chef proved me wrong. The way chef prepared asparagus and rubarbh, all the different dishes we had were lovely! The prawns were juicy, the homemade rye bread and the shiitake butter were perfect together, the desserts, etc. etc., we loved all the food. We had a 4-course, 6- course and 7-course dinner and we enjoyed the new dishes that chef created! The hotelroom was large with very good matrasses, a bath and shower, drinks and snacks at the hotelroom. The woods are nearby and bikes can be rented for beautifull rides in the country. Every year there are Shakespeare performances across the hotel. We felt at home at this hotel, thanks to Ruwan and the friendly staff. And the interior of the hotel is very nice as well. We'll definitely visit Villa BlauwHemel again!
