"The guy working there was amazing (we were the girls with no map and not a lue). He printed us off a map explained where to go for the three peaks challenge and the bestway to do it. I had my dog which they were really friendly and accommodating for. The place was a nice area parking was easy and kitchen area was large and clean"

Highfield Guesthouse ★★★★

"Highfield House is in a great location just a couple of minutes walk into the town centre which was lovely. There was on street free parking outside and in the road to the side of the hotel. The owner was so friendly and welcoming, giving us some helpful information about pubs and restaurants in the vicinity. The room was really clean and had a tv, fridge, fan, large wardrobe, full length mirrors in room and bathroom, tea/coffee facilities and hairdryer. There were biscuits and soaps/shower gels and clean towels. The bed was super comfortable and I slept really well. I’ve seen some comments about road noise and whilst we were in room 5 which is next to the road, we didn’t experience any issues. I think the only thing I would say is that the room decor could do with a bit of an update but that didn’t take away from our stay. The breakfast was fantastic with lots of choice including various cereals, toast and jams, full English, scrambled eggs or beans on toast. There was also fruit, yoghurts and fruit juice. It was in a room in the basement which also had a nice snug area with tv. We both had the full English and I have to say that we’ve stayed in a lot of hotels/B&M’s and this was one of the best we’ve ever had - for £7.50 we felt it was incredibly reasonable as we also had cereals and could’ve had anything else that was there. Overall we were extremely impressed with our stay from the lovely host through to the food and accommodation and should we ever stay in Skipton again, would absolutely book in at Highfield House. Highly recommend!"

"Very, very nice country hotel. The accommodation is comfortable and the breakfast is delicious. Insufficient: 1. The electric kettle is made of plastic rather than stainless steel. 2. We ate three breakfasts, maybe the chef made different breakfast standards are also different: the first day, enough; The second and three days, the amount was halved, my husband ordered a "full set of English breakfast" and I ordered "smoked salmon eggs", "smoked salmon eggs", bread, eggs, salmon from two to one."

"We stayed in an accessible room on the ground floor. 16-18 June 2026 The caring thoughtful service from Tracy and Charlotte who seemed to fulfil several roles in the restaurant and the hotel helped us access our food at breakfast and ensured our allergies were respected.They adjusted the air conditioning in our room to meet our needs and made our stay comfortable with their good humour and thoughtfulness. We used a wheelchair and sticks to get around. The room itself was clean but the accessible seated shower was old, broken and rusty although the actual shower worked well. The bed was very comfortable but far too low making getting in and out of the bed a challenge. The 'accessible' room was almost as far away from reception as possible along 2 and a bit long corridors. The doors are not easy to keep open when pushing a manual wheelchair through. We were visiting a friend in nearby Skipton and also wished to drive through the scenic Dales."
