Scandic Skellefteå

The hotel has very friendly service. The room was quite spacious as a standard room. The view was towards the parking area and there is nothing to see. Free parking was great and e-car charging available by MER (easy to use via mobile app). Pets were welcome.

Terrible! Standard room for 7 nights. Requested daily housekeeping but room was not serviced until we could not handle the crunchy floor anymore. No fresh towels for 3 consecutive days because the hotel ran out of towels. The reception had to cannibalize an unreserved room for towels after our unhappiness. No complimentary coffee/tea service. Our request for one came in the form of an empty kettle. We bought our own coffee, tea and cup from a local grocery store. Luckily I had my own water container. We also stayed in a standard room for the previous 7 nights in Scandic Continental, Stockholm.There are vast differences between both hotels. The rooms in Scandic Continental had body lotion, handwash, body soap, shampoo and conditioner wherelse in Scandic Skellefteå, there was only handwash, conditioner and a 2in1 combo of body wash that doubles as shampoo. FYI, it is standard NOT to have shower caps, toothbrush, shoe shine, sewing kits and etc in the rooms. Both rooms came with a set of body and hand towel for each guest. No facial towels provided. Both hotels had complimentary bicycles for use. Scandic Continental valued guest comfort by offering complimentary coffee/tea/fresh fruit flavored water/still water and fruit bowl in the reception area. Nothing of this nature was seen in Scandic Skellefteå other than water (if it is not broken). Scandic Continental’s room had air conditioning wherelse we roasted in Scandic Skellefteå until the weather cooled on the 6th day of our visit.

I spent 2 nights at Scandic Skelleftea for a friends weekend, and chose this hotel as I usually like this hotel chain. 3 days before arrival, we received an email from the hotel saying that they had an event on our first night and that the noise level may be a little higher than usual, and that the restaurant was unavailable for dinner. First off, notifying a guest 3 days before in itself, is less than desirable, given that this makes a significant impact, and at that stage, it was too late to book anywhere else. As a response, we asked them to ensure that our room was away from the restaurant, where the event was held, which was granted. The evening started and around 9pm a live band started playing and they kept going until 1am. The noise level was not "a little" more than usual. We were on the 4th floor, facing the street, and it was so loud that we could hardly hear the TV, let alone sleep. On top of that, our room was super-stuffy and the products in the shower wasn't filled up sufficiently and had run out on the last day before leaving. On the plus-side, breakfast was great. Safe to say, we won't make a repeat visit at this property!

We had a bonus night at Scandic Skellefteå at Christmas Eve. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Our room was even up-graded free of charge. The hotel has an environmental-friendly profile. There are charge-stations at the outside, but unfortunately not in the garage. Breakfast was excellent with a large variety of foods. Nice, clean rooms. We were very happy with our stay.

Pretty outdated hotelrooms. Little musty air. Staff was nice and restaurant was good. Menu was bit small side. Not really many options for vegetarians/vegans. Allergens was not mentioned on the menu. Gym had all you need for basic work out
