Premier Inn Scarborough (South Bay)

First the positives. The room was very clean, comfortable and bathroom was obviously recently refurbished. Breakfast was excellent and good value, but more on that later. Now the not so good, or could do better! The check in policy is ludicrous, I understand they need to have a designated check in time, but whilst waiting (40 minutes) I overheard the staff clearly stating that all rooms were ready for guests, but as people were entering the reception they were informed that check was not possible until 3pm and they had to wait or pay £10.00 for an early check in! The result was a packed reception and when they did commence check in, due to a “new system “ it was painfully slow! Very poor customer service. The breakfast was good value, but the attitude of the cashier guy was poor at best, probably rude if to be defined. On approaching him I was asked “ breakfast for two “ to which I replied “ no there’s only one” to which he snapped “ well I’m not to know that!” Not expected and yes rude!

Excellent stay at Premier Inn South Bay Scarborough. Handy position near shops & cafes. There is a Brewers Fayre Restaurant onsite at the hotel which served an excellent meal-deal. Lovely bedroom with very comfy bed & tea & coffee facilities. Will definitely stay again.

Easy to find, pretty much smack bang in the middle. Easy access to shops and the beach. We did pay extra for early check in and premium room with a view. The room was super clean, quiet, came with complimentary items and a view of the castle and the sea. We did book the premium room as we have had bad experiences at different premier inns before, but didnt need to bother. Outside the room there was a air freshener and could hear it giving a humming noise, but into the room, no noise. We heard no one all stay in the room. Air conditioner worked, which we used as it was warm sunny weather. Bed was comfy, super nice shower.

Disappointed. Yes uou pay gor what you get. Family member had a fantastic room suite in fact and paid same price. Dirty bath tub curtains had holes. Carpet dirty. Glad it was just for 1 night. One point for not park car outside in the loading bay. Traffic wadens keen, 5 cars ticked same morning.
