We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and while it is comfortable and clean, overall we found it a bit of a disappointment. 1. When we arrived we were shown to a beautiful suite, but it didn’t have the hot tub described and given the amazing location, our view was of the carpark! When we complained we were shown to a smaller room with a great hillside view and given the choice of the 2, so we chose the 2nd one. But we had booked a suite, so lost out on the deal. *Be aware that the photos they show of the suites have the curtains closed, clearly to hide the fact you don’t get a hillside view.* 2. The next issue was the hairdryer, the only plug point near a mirror was faulty so the plug wouldn’t stay in the socket. We informed reception who kept sending new hairdryers, each time we explained what the issue was by showing them, but despite being told maintenance would come, it wasn’t fixed during our stay meaning the hairdryer was unusable. 3. The air conditioning in our room was really inconsistent and fairly ineffective, meaning you woke up hot and uncomfortable in the night. 4. We booked some treatments at the spa, we returned to the hotel especially to have these treatments, but on arrival were told they couldn’t go ahead due to the noise from building work. We said we didn’t mind the noise, the staff then admitted it was their Diwali celebration so they couldn’t not do the treatments for us. So basically they had lied. Plus no one had contacted us to advise the appointments had been cancelled meaning some of our limited time in Shimla was wasted. 5. Reception staff were all very pleasant and friendly, but whatever you asked them, they asked you to take a seat while they looked into your query. It felt like no one could make a decision or answer a question without checking with a superior first. We just didn’t feel this hotel lived up to the Radisson brand or the cost charged for the rooms, so can’t recommend it as a choice for staying in Shimla.
