Hotel staff friendly and accommodating with an excellent selection of cuisine to cater for all tastes. Our room was ideal, clean and tidy, also with a balcony. Our only small issues were that : (a) Playa Camp de Mer is a relatively small cove with no real opportunity to enjoy a large selection of shops. However, if one’s objective is simply to continually chill out by the hotel pool or sample the adjacent seashore, the location is perfect for this. (b) To visit nearby towns and beaches one needs to employ the local buses or taxis. Buses are relatively cheap while taxis are not so; but for the odd occasion to explore we were happy to use a taxi. Return trip to/from nearby Palma Nova costs about 23 euros (appprox 6 miles). (c) The bars/restaurants outside the hotel are not cheap; the one immediately off the beach on a rock in the sea charged us 21 euros for two G & Ts, which one is willing to pay at the time but inwardly grouse about upon later reflection. Staff in this restaurant were not particularly friendly either, but this could have been a language/culture thing. Talking to some of the other guests: it appears that the hotel has a large number of people who regularly return year by year. The hotel caters for all ages but there were no children about as far as we remember. The majority of guests were older people (like us), consequently the ambience in the hotel and around the pool was subdued and relaxing; no background music, loud or otherwise to spoil one’s holiday. All in all, an enjoyable stay, a good, happy, hotel that understands the needs of older people and provides it well. We stayed for a week, which we felt was long enough to return home with positive memories.
