Very small room, like a capsule hotel. But it was clean and had a big bed and tv! It’s also very central. Not the room for an extended stay but perfect if you’re travelling light and want a comfortable place to stop off for a day or two.

The hotel grounds are beautiful and the hotel looks impressive from the outside. The reception area also looked nice and the staff were efficient checking us in. However as soon as we opened the door to go to our room it went downhill rather quickly. Stair carpets looked dirty and old and scuffed paint everywhere on the woodwork. For £130 a night we expected the room to be at least clean and comfortable so we weren't too worried about the room. What a shock......it was awful. We found a wood lice scurrying along the carpet in amongst the thick layer of dust and paint flakes. Carpet was full of stains and felt sticky. Furnishings were old and grubby. The headboard was a fake bamboo concoction......very strange. The bathroom wasn't much better with dust layers on pipes and paint peeling off the radiator. Also the room was cold and felt damp. The heating must of been switched off as nothing appeared to work. Found an old radiator in the cupboard but didn't dare touch it as it looked like it had been in there for years. Damp patch in the bathroom didn't add to the ambiance. It was just horrible. In the morning there was no lights working in the bathroom......very odd. Tea tray in the room was okay and there were 2 bottles of water. Breakfast the next morning was self-serve. Staff were nice and helpful. Breakfast was okay but nothing special. Cheap pbread for toast and looked like defrosted pastries. No plant based butter which was rather annoying after being told via email they cater fully for plant based diets. We would never ever stay here again......we couldn't wait to check out. I felt dirty and itchy when I left.......not pleasant.

Wir gingen am Sonntag zum Mittagessen und bestellten eine Vielzahl von Lebensmitteln. Das Essen war ok, nicht erstaunlich. Als es geliefert wurde, fragte die Wärterin, ob wir Sauce wollten und wir sagten ja bitte und gab ihr eine Liste. Zehn oder fünfzehn Minuten später kam sie zurück und fragte, ob das Essen ok war. Ich sagte ja, aber wir hatten noch nicht die Sauce erhalten. Ich fügte hinzu, dass ich nicht mehr mein Essen brauchte, weil ich fast mein Essen fertig hatte. Stellen Sie sich meine Überraschung vor, als sie statt zu entschuldigen antwortete ”keine Sorgen” und ging weg. Als ich für das Essen bezahlt, fragte der Kartenleser mich, ob ich einen Tipp hinzufügen wollte und ich nein antwortete, weil der Service schlecht war. In keinem Augenblick machte das Personal darauf aufmerksam. dass sie bereits eine ”optionale” 10% Servicegebühr hinzugefügt hatten, Es war schön, mit unseren Freunden zu essen, aber dieser Ort hinterließ einen schlechten Geschmack in meinem Mund.

Wir kamen spät am Abend. Das Personal bei unserer Ankunft war so freundlich und wir wurden schnell in unsere Zimmer gebracht. Unser Zimmer war riesig, meine Töchter waren kleiner, aber noch groß genug für zwei Erwachsene. Sie waren unspottbar, das Bett war auch so komfortabel und das Schlafen war großartig. Das Badezimmer war hervorragend mit einem riesigen Duschebereich und Toiletten waren geliefert. Wir hatten am Morgen ein Frühstück, das war erstaunlich. Im Restaurant waren Spielzeug, Bücher, Spiele und ein komfortables Gebiet, wo Sie sitzen und entspannen konnten. Auch das Personal konnte nicht hilfreicher oder nett gewesen sein. Ich hätte keine Zweifel bei der Empfehlung The Hollies Inn.

Jedes Mal, wenn ich und meine Verlobte für ein langes Wochenende in Bath kommen, bleiben wir immer hier, es scheint nie zu enttäuschen. Mit dem Willkommen des Personals von Anfang bis Ende, empfehlen wir sehr 👌. Das Hotel befindet sich in der besten Lage mit den romanischen Baden nur 5 Minuten zu Fuß und das ganze wunderbare Nachtleben umgeben.
