The room was clean but there was a pool of water on the bathroom floor. We dried it up and put it down to a cleaner forgetting to dry mop. Next morning we found another puddle and moved the bin to see a leak and mould. Another issue was the bar and restaurant were closed at night and we weren't warned in advance. In fact I was sent an email the day before advertising their meals.I feel that whilst the hotel is in a good location, its standards are dropping.

A very nice welcome from the staff, I believe they are currently handicapped by lack of investment in this hotel. A lift that’s controls are stuck by sellotape, a bar with a bucket under the ceiling, no drinks on draught, limited parking that’s chargeable. The room is of a standard expected, but everything else is well off. Apparently due a refurb, bless the staff

Worst premier hotel I have ever stayed in, Restaurant and bar didn't open until 6.00pm and closed at 9.30pm with the staff not been trained, the Redhead girl in charge was rude and abrupt to a lot of customers, the main entrance door from outside was locked to discourage anyone coming in and a lot of the areas where cordoned off to stop access, it was as if as soon as we get out she can put her feet up, WILL NOT STAY HEAR AGAIN

The bed was hard,no sweet treats advertised in Premier plus rooms,I wasn't told at the time of booking that there was no bar or breakfast due to apparent building works that we never saw ongoing, only 1 toilet roll,paint chipped off at the side of the air-conditioning control and other parts of the room ,I will be advising friends and family not to bother with the premier plus rooms

Went to the hotel in Kendal in all innocence for a wedding. If you go don’t stay in room 118 the tv keeps going off (not recommended when England play Wales) the mattress was not king size or comfortable and the bed above squeaked all night. Complained in the morning but we have been told by HQ that we should have complained in the night and changed rooms at 2 in the morning the guests in the other rooms would not be pleased. Now I know I will and kick a loud fuss up. Room 118 don’t accept ☹️ The wedding was nice and the taxi driver who took us the reception was excellent.

Helpful, friendly, staff, trying to do all jobs at once and keep guests happy. There is obviously a shortage of staff and this leaves the small team overstretched, particularly at breakfast when things need refilling etc. On 2 mornings there were no hash browns or mushrooms available for any guests- not sure why -when there is a supermarket in the vicinity! Large,newly refurbished room which was clean, with a comfortable bed.Lots of hot water -great shower. No heating in room 2 on arrival - and we suspect this had been a long standing issue. We were given an oil filled radiator for the duration of our stay. Shame on management for not sorting this out. Hotel in great location for town shopping etc. Come on premiere inn management - sort this out - it could be a little goldmine.

THE NEGATIVR: The hotel isn't clean enough. I have stayed twice now. The first time there was chewing gum on the T.V (covering a light I assume) and this time there were bits of crisps or something under the bed and the sink was dirty. Parking can't be reserved. This is tricky because parking is very tight and if you can't park at the hotel it's self your in trouble (Kendal isn't great for parking). THE POSITIVE: Breakfast is good enough and the price is fair, probably cheaper than the surrounding venues. Location is good. Your at the bottom of the high street. Ideal for food, shopping, road and rail, pubs and eateries. Staff are good. Friendly without being annoying or intrusive. Exactly what I would expect in Cumbria.

Both types of WiFi - free and ultimate - simply didn't work in the room (and this issue has been reported by other reviewers). One part of the hotel - the bar - did have WiFi but that wasn't available at the times I needed. Hot water was tepid when we arrived mid afternoon. After speaking with a receptionist she offered to check out the hot water situation 'later'. We went out, returning 2 hours later to be told by the other receptionist that she'd gone home and left no message. I can only conclude that nothing happened. While parking is listed on the website as chargeable the rate for 2 days of £14 is simply extortionate. If I'd have known about the WiFi and parking I would have chosen another hotel.
