Me, my wife and two kids (13 and 11) had a lovely couple of days at The Kipling Lodge just outside Ranthambore. It is a lovely, and charming hotel - quite rustic, but clean and with a great team. We stayed in two adjacent villas, which were big, clean and with huge bathrooms. The bed was great and the room had everything you’d expect from a good hotel. On the premises is a library/relaxation room, where we played chess and read out of the heat, a pool, which the kids loved, and large grounds where we played badminton. We ate each night and for breakfast at the hotel - the food is very good and the service very helpful and very friendly. It was cooked fresh and all the vegetables and fruit are freshly cut - ie. Fine for westerners who are worried about that kind of stuff. The hotel has its only reverse-osmosis filter and so the water is safe to drink. We had no problems. One morning there was a pottery demonstration, and we all had a go on the wheel, and in the evening there was Indian dancing / music. The hotel grounds are beautifully well kept: lovely plants, lots of wildlife and plants and beautiful lily ponds. We saw dragon flies, frogs, lots of butterflies and bats. My only advice to the hotel is to run a small bar; you could get beers, but not many other alcoholic drinks. I think you would get lots of takers having a Gin & Tonic as the sun goes down. Special credit for Mr Om, who looks after Guest Relations and also Reena, the hotel manager. I didn’t catch the name of the gentleman who runs the restaurant but he was wonderful! We will recommend to friends!
