Chateau de Varenne

What an amazing holiday! Everything about this place is 10/10. Paul & Emma were the best hosts anyone could ask for - so welcoming, helpful and really made our visit extra special. Breakfast was one of the many highlights with loads of fresh options to choose from every morning! (Fresh baguettes are a must try!) Location is perfect for exploring nearby vineyards or the amazing streets of Avignon! If you’re looking for a relaxing break in an amazing and tranquil property - then this place is for you! I can’t wait to come back again!!

Absolute perfection! If you dream of a stay in the French countryside all your dreams will come true at Chateau de Varenne! Our family of five stayed for 5 nights at the end of July and it was magical, like being in a fairytale! The property and the chateau are exquisite, the rooms regal, gorgeous and impeccably clean, and Emma and Paul provide the kindest, most attentive, helpful and lovely service, yet still make you feel like you have the place all to yourself. The delicious breakfast on the terrace, the beautiful pool, and the ping pong were loved by us and especially our three children. We are already dreaming of going back!

What a wonderful place to stay. We spent 3 days there this week. Truly beautiful château ,the decor, gardens, pool area and the warm welcoming atmosphere . Nothing too much trouble. Emma, Paul snd everyone working there were just amazing. Emma booked local restaurants for us, she also gave us great tips on places to visit.

After returning from our 3rd visit at Chateau de Varenne we again experienced 5* hospitality from Paul, Emma and the rest of the team. Should it be relaxing by the pool, breakfast on the terrace with exquisite views or visiting the local Vin yards. I couldn’t recommend it enough!

One of the most charming places we have ever stayed. Absolutely, jaw-droppingly stunning. Not only the chateau itself, the grounds, the environment - pure peace and tranquility - to the other guests, who all come and go in seemingly the same awe as we have, but the charm and warmth of Emma, Paul & the entire family, whose wonderful lives you witness if you are lucky enough, stay long enough or pay attention to. We feel totally blessed to have been able to stay in such a beautiful place, where it’s impossible to do anything but truly unwind, and to be hosted by such a welcoming family who run the place to perfection. This review may make this sound like a family retreat, for those seeking the hotel experience, don’t be misled… the hotel runs so smoothly you barely notice the efforts that go into readying everything; breakfast is wonderful!, the gardens are manicured, the plants watered, tables prepped with flowers and candles, lunch isn’t technically ‘on the menu!’ But our hosts happily obliged. The drinks and wine selections at the honesty bars were divine, the advice and tips as to where to visit; vineyards, local restaurants, towns, even to point in the direction of a lavender field… all fantastic. The games, the views which seemingly stretch for days…. the gorgeous character of the chateau, Woody the dog (who is gorgeous but whom you seldom notice if you are not an animal lover)… Every single aspect of this place and the experience is fantastic. We stumbled upon this gem via *********** nestled between Avignon & Chateauneuf du pape, but wow, a whole-hearted recommend! A must visit. We will be back!!

I had a wonderful experience staying at Chateau de Varenne. Staying at a French Chateau is my ultimate vacation. As much as I like Provence, it has been almost a decade since my last visit there as there are other places I want to visit also. I had hoped to stay in a Chateau while vacationing in Provence. I typically do not visit Europe for less than 2 weeks due to the long flight. It is not easy to take 2 weeks of vacation for an engineer in America nowadays, so when I know that I can possibly do something I want only once in a lifetime or have to wait a long time to do it again, I want to make sure I get the best I can get and Chateau de Varenne did live up to my expectations. I did not see any chateau properties with better character and charm than it at this price range. I stayed in their Luxury room and it was comfortable, clean and beautiful. The high ceiling with the bed canopy created a very relaxing atmosphere for a good night sleep. The breakfast was good with a wide variation of items and delicious breakfast pastries. The breakfast area evokes a sense of calm and tranquillity. The salon is elegant and classy. The chateau also has a pool. The property is beautiful and tastefully restored. The Chateau hosts are friendly and welcoming. The entire team is very attentive. I felt well-taken care of when I was there. It did feel like going back home at the end of the day and not just going back to rest for the night. Chateaux are not centrally located within towns and cities but the location of Chateau de Varenne is convenient from a chateau perspective. It is about 20 -25 min away from Avignon. I am grateful for this vacation experience and it means a lot to me. It is hard to be disappointed with a stay at this property.
