Stayed at this small hotel while touring Loire Valley. It’s a good location for accessing various castles in the area(Saumur castle was closed day we were there). Saumur is a pleasant little town with a medieval center worth an hour of walking. The hotel was pleasant enough but not particularly luxurious. We had a 3rd floor attic room which was large. We found the bed a bit hard but that’s subjective. Bathroom was nice but beware a big step up to get into the tub might be an issue for those with mobility problems. The room was too warm even though it wasn’t hot outside. We could not locate an individual thermostat. Agree with those who recommend getting parking but beware it is in a very cramped courtyard. Breakfast was very nice. I’m not sure there are any other more upscale properties in. Saumur so would probably stay here again. It certainly was priced very reasonably

Wir haben ein romantisches Wochenende im Hotel verbracht. Einfach herrlich und unglaublich schön. Die Zimmer sind luxeriös eingerichtet und die Lage ist sehr ruhig. Das Spa im Keller ist einfach traumhaft. Beste Noten auch für die sehr zuvorkommende und kompetente Hotelleitung.

Mit einer kürzlich erwischten Wärmewelle war dieses Hotel unser Retter, nachdem Campanile uns zweimal in zwei Tagen hinuntergelassen hat. reserviert via Booking.com im Autopark, und von dort an war es ein anderer Urlaub. Einchecken war ein Brise. Zimmer 503 w/zwei Einzelbetten waren geräumig und hatten A/c arbeiten, wir schliefen endlich und fühlten sich wieder Mensch am nächsten Tag. Das mit dem Frühstück war alles, was Sie beantragen konnten, und lecker mit ihm. Obwohl wir in der Nähe der Bahnhof waren, haben wir nichts gehört, und wir konnten unsere Reise fortsetzen, lebten und in einem viel besseren Zustand. Wir würden sicher noch einmal hier bleiben!!

As a group of three we were touring Belgium/France on our motorcycles. After a 12 hour, gruelling day on the motorcycles we arrived at this Hotel a little later than planned; 9.00pm rather than the 7:30pm.After getting access to our rooms we went straight to the Hotel restaurant for our dinner. At 9:10 pm were were curtly told by the restaurant manager that dinner service ended at 9:00pm and flatly refused to serve us. After some negotiations we were allowed to order our dinner. There was no need to be so unpleasant. We had booked a twin bedded room and a single. The twin bedded room was very small for two people compared to the huge room occupied by one person. Very strange! The buffet breakfast was comprehensive and there was something for everyone. As it was only a stay for a single night we did not make a fuss to the management but compared to some of the other Hotels we had used in France this place was pretty mediocre and very unfriendly.

It is very noisey as it it beside a dual carriage way. The room was small and hot. We opened a window but this was noisey and the womanin the next room smoked constantly so her cigarette smoke came into our room. The bed base was really dirty.. I hope it was spilt coffee!!! It was also torn. All in all, relatively cheap but really poor. Better to spend a little more and get a comfortable night's sleep!

We arrived at midday here and the check in time is from 14:00 however was going to just ask if we could put our car in the car park but the friendly receptionist checked us in early so bonus and very good of them. Seen a review about the car park being tight and although our car would be classed as a Chelsea tractor had no problem manoeuvring it in. We booked the double suit that overlooks the Loire. Fantastic view, room was a bit dated but the bathroom was modern so no real complaints. The kettle lead had been wired down the back of a cupboard but didn’t reach the socket but a quick trip to reception and we were provided with a new kettle so good service on their behalf. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The hotel is ideally situated and decent value. Would certainly return. Thanks for a great 3 day stay

Good 3 star hotel in central location. We stayed 3 nights in a superior double in 1st floor. Room ok size, bathroom good as had bath and shower- all very clean. I liked the option of not having housekeeping every day, and was able to get refill coffee and toilet roll from reception when required. Air con worked well. We asked for a sheet instead of the duvet as it was hot, and they accommodated our request. Very helpful bilingual front desk staff. There is no lift, and a little bit of noise of people in upstairs room walking around. The parking was closed for building work, but easy to park in open car park opposite for 8 euros 24 hrs. We didn’t have breakfast as lots of nearby cafés. We would stay again.

Very disappointed with the room. The washed floor was still wet because the planks were lifting and water was trapped underneath and it never dried out overnight. So the room smelt musky and I had to use lots of lavender room spray. There was no cover on the extraction fan in the bathroom and the water was leaking into the cistern and made the electric pump empty the system spasmodically throughout the night. The bathroom wall tiles were old and stained and the paint on the wall was peeling and the plaster was coming off next to the bath. It was a ground floor room with only one door coming off the car park- noisy cars coming and going. Most of the hotels have a small entrance- porch on the room- two doors. I actually stayed in this hotel last year in a different block in an upstairs room and that was fine. I should have booked it with *********** as they would have charged me only £65. Since I am a member and was going to save 10% I booked directly online. 91€ was an extortionate price to pay for such poor quality accommodation. I made a complaint to Campanile and they said they were sorry and hoped we would stay with them again. How can you tell if your room is going to be fine -like it has on every other occasion during the last 30+ years? I won’t be booking with them again.
