Aethos Saragano

The place is not what the hotel's website says! The pool was half full ( was being filled up by a hose extension). it took three days to fill it up. The pool area was completely abandoned with bathroom full of Dust and dirt. there were only two umbrellas at the pool area and we had to stay under a tree for the shade. sunbeds were dirty. No services at the pool. to get water we had to walk all the way up to the restaurant. Room is cleaned every three days. No car parking. lack of staff. The restaurant staff were very helpful. apart from the nice view on the beautiful Umbrian hill. It was an awful experience. and for the amount i paid I would rather stay at a 5 star luxury hotel. Its more of an Airbnb than a Hotel

First, the staff were extremely nice. But, I am at a loss to explain the comments of earlier guests. The hotel’s website shows a pool, promises a world class wine bar and a spa. The pool is an empty concrete hole at the present time, the wine bar doesn’t exist, and neither does the spa. We also did not have housekeeping. There is a huge gap between the website promises and the actual hotel. Perhaps it is because new owners took over relatively recently. But, do due diligence before booking.

What an extremly nice and marvelous place to be. We stayed here for @ four days. Good restaurant, breakfast. 👍👍Pool, everything is there and fine location to plan day trips and walks in the area. Staff is very helpfull and nake you feel at ease and comfortable at once.

This is such a lovely relaxing hotel. Situated in the centre of a quiet hilltop village with amazing views. You can’t help but feel at home and totally relaxed. The pool is a bit of a climb but worth the effort. The restaurant is fabulous, which is important as it’s the only restaurant for a few kilometres. The chef is a local lady who is passionate about traditional Umbrian cooking. Paul, the manager is a fountain of knowledge about the surrounding towns and such an engaging guy.

We had the most wonderful stay at Aethos with our 3 year old daughter recently. The hotel is amazingly located, tumbles through the village of Saragano, on the top of a hill with unparalleled views. The restaurant is absolutely superb - we ate there all three nights while our daughter slept - so many options and everything some of the best of our whole trip. Great location for popping to beautiful towns and wineries and - best till last - Paul the manager (and Mabel his dog!) are just amazing. Could not have been more helpful or accommodating or fun! What a joy. We’ll be back for sure.

What an amazing gem of a hotel/experience in the heart of Umbria! The rooms are clean and modern, the staff friendly, the food delicious and the scenery idyllic! Hands down recommend this to those traveling by car in Italy.

We were a group of 8 women traveling across Italy. This was a perfect place for us to relax and rest up for the second part of the trip. I can’t say enough about Paul and the staff (Pedro, gilerm, and delphina). They went out of their way, at every moment of our stay, to make sure we had everything we needed and more. The rooms were perfect and the views were breathtaking. We took a cooking class in the restaurant and are going to try to recreate what we learned, we took archery lessons, and spent an entire afternoon relaxing on the terrace. The food from the restaurant might just have been the best that we had during our 2 week trip- and we went to a few Michelin star restaurants. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

Our stay here was absolutely amazing! Paul is the new manager at this property and was so sweet and kind and made us feel like we were home! He worked as a manager but also a translator for Delfina, the chef, who made THE BEST truffle pasta we’ve ever had. In addition her cooking class was so fun and we learned so much because she really really cared and tried to teach us her Italian style of cooking! Breakfast and cappachinos were homemade and out of this world delicious too. Of course don’t forget the views there were breathtaking and something you only see in movies! The rooms were clean and modern and comfy and I couldn’t recommend this place more!!! Thank you Paul and Delfina!

The hotel is absolutely stunning. The rooms are incredible and the staff is kind, helpfull and professionnal. The chef Delfina is incredible, you will taste the best of Umbria with her. Pedro also made my stay remarkable. Here is where I believe you should do better: - You don’t have 24/7 service open (which is okay) but your in room service is very limited; you are a luxury hotel and you only offer instant nestcafe coffee. I have a room with the most beautifull view of Saragano and my only option option in the morning are very low quality coffee and tea…. - Breakfast is okay; very limited. - Your website says you have bikes for rent at 45 euro; Great!! but it’s a company renting it for you 20 minutes drive from the hotel and they charge 80 euro to deliver it to the hotel…. so you should review your website. I also mentionned to the GM that I would rather ride a mountain bike rather than an E-bike and he said it was the only option in the area. Ceci restaurant was closed on Monday so I went to the hotel next door to make a reservation at their restaurant and they let me use one of their mountain bike for free even though I offered them to rent it for a fee…. I wouldn’t have mind renting a bike for a fee from your hotel, but driving 20 minutes to get one or pay 80 euro delivery fee?! Please don’t give false information on your website. - You charged me for a bottle I returned; listed 2016 on your list; It was a 2019. Not okay
