I would like to proviso this review by saying I have also stayed at Emiliano and Fasano. I recognise those hotels are probably higher end so may skew my review of Canopy. Canopy by Hilton is a basic business hotel. The real downfall is the front desk staff . There is a general feeling of disinterest and just going through the motions which was pretty consistent my one week stay. On check in my room was not ready (until 4pm despite 3pm check in) When I was told to wait, the restaurant wanted to charge me because my room wasn't ready and therefore I could not add it to my stay. Although this was eventually resolved, just gives you an idea of lack of communicationmwith front desk and not a great start to the trip,. When the room was ready they didnt tell me. and when I finally asked , the keys were handed over with disinterest. Wow. The restaurant staff are lovely but no vibe and usually empty for lunch and dinner. The rooftop bar was permanently shut during my visit. The gym is very small with a few treadmills and a corner for weights. It feels crowded if two people are in there. The strengths of the hotel are the rooms, which were big with great bathrooms and comfortable beds. Cleaning staff were lovely but I did often come back to a room that had not been cleared ( after a day of business finishing at 4pm). RInging the front desk , it consistently felt like I was being done a favour to get my room cleaned. So yeah unfortunately the verdict is meh. I come to Sao Paolo frequently for business and I will be picking a different hotel next time.
