Das Hotel Cuevas ist besonders, da es sehr modern gehalten ist: Außengestaltung mit viel Glas, Video-Leinwand an der Rezeption, ... Es liegt unmittelbar an der Eingangsstraße nach Santillar del Mar. Der Poolbereich ist auch modern gestaltet und der Pool ausreichend groß zum Schwimmen. Allerdings liegt der Poolbereich im Grunde ganztags im Schatten. Außerdem störte uns, dass der komplette Bereich, wie auch im Eingangsbereich Kunstrasen verlegt war. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Das Zimmer hatte einen Whirlpool und eine moderne neue Dusche und entspricht einem normalen 4-Sterne-Standard. Der Whirlpool war halb hinter dem Schrank eingelassen. Die Betten sind gut. Der Tresor war nicht verschraubt und konnte einfach aus dem Schrank genommen werden. Es sollten Parkplätze kostenlos z.V. stehen: es gibt aber nur 6 vor dem Haus. Sind diese belegt und man nutzt die Garage, die man sich unbedingt anschauen sollte, da sie sehr chic - fast wohnlich - gestaltet ist, muss diese bezahlt werden. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und lecker, auch mit lokalen Leckereien. Eierspeisen wurden frisch zubereitet.

Wonderful, historic and charming hotel. I love these small, family run boutique hotels and Casa del Marques did NOT disappoint! Lovely room, comfy bed, clean and pleasant. Front desk staff was super gracious, helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was OK. Bar was great! Even better was the help yourself bar in the picturesque back courtyard, full of blooms, orange and lemon trees and two onsite house cats to make it interesting! Only real comment I would have is that updating the rooms really is in order. The bathrooms need a complete overhaul. Loved the bidet, but renovating / updating the bathroom to include getting rid of the shower-in-the-tub, would be equally as acceptable. Lighting not all that good; fairly dim. The electrical system probably need updating, to include more outlets AND USB / USC outlets be made available in the rooms. My adapter took care of all my needs, but I had to move the mattress out in order to use the single outlet behind the headboard - I used both USB outlets, both USC outlets, and the plug. Crossed my mind that I might be overloading the circuits, but I had no mishaps. Just a crooked mattress. The motion detector lights on the stairwells worked most of the time, but were still not enough. Tripping and falling down the dimly lit stairs - even with the motion detector light on - was a real possibility. An accident (and possible lawsuit) waiting to happen I thought every time I descended the stairs from my room. Since there really isn’t all that much to do in Santillana Del Mar (the Main Street is two blocks long and pretty much a single street filled with souvenir shops, cafes and hotels), this was a lovely hotel to hang out in!

Dies war eine der schönsten und komfortablesten Innen, die wir während einer sechswöchigen Reise nach Portugal und Spanien gehalten haben. Rafael war ein beachtlicher und beherbergender Gastgeber und sorgte dafür, dass alles einen angenehmen Aufenthalt ermöglichte. Wir waren nur zwei Nächte da und hätten gern länger verbracht. Da die Annäherung das Dorf überquert, können Sie beginnen zu denken, die Lage ist weg in der Umgebung! Keine Sorge: Sie fahren um, um loszuladen, Parken Minuten entfernt und Sie sind direkt neben dem Hauptplatz. Santillana del Mar ist ein wunderschönes historisches Dorf mit mehreren sehr guten Restaurants (Fragen Sie Rafa). Wir mögen El Castillo, direkt auf dem Hauptplatz. Wir waren in Santillana, um die Replik der vorgeschichtlichen Altamira-Graben-Gemälde zu besuchen. Vermisst das nicht! Eine Highlight unserer Reise.

La estancia ha sido agradable. El sitio tiene mucho encanto, es tranquilo y acogedor. Los alrededores y jardines están muy bien. Cuenta con un pequeña granja que da mucho juego con peques. La piscina está bien para un remojito, pero nada de largos. Las habitaciones están bien, son amplias, limpias y pueden entrar hasta 4 personas (2+2niños) con amplitud. Lo que mejoraría y mucho es el desayuno, es justito y caro. En el comedor el espacio justo, falta vajilla y menaje, café de máquina, zumo de caja, bizcocho de mercadona... Vamos 9 euros por persona me ha parecido muy caro. El lugar es precioso pero con el desayuno se aprovechan de que no hay nada alrededor y al final te quedas.

Das Zimmer ist sehr gemütlich und verfügt über ein sehr funktionelles Badezimmer. Das Frühstück war einfach, aber lecker, ein wenig Obst fehlte mir. Die Besitzer waren sehr nett und haben uns wunderbar behandelt. In der Stadt gibt es nicht viel zu tun, aber in wenigen Minuten erreichen Sie Santillana oder einen anderen interessanten Ort.
