We booked our trip to Chile through Trailfinders and this hotel was recommended by them as a good base for some local wine tasting. The location is lovely, set amongst the vines, about 30 minutes from Santa Cruz town. It is a short walk to good restaurants ( Chilean, Italian and Japanese). The local vineyard ( Laura Hartwig) offers tours or you can pop in for a glass of wine. The Terraviña hotel staff are very friendly and very helpful with local information and restaurant recommendations and bookings. We stayed in a triple room which was a good size, had character and had a wonderful view of the vineyard. We felt that it needed some upgrading however, especially the bathroom. The shower needs updating and the shower curtain needs to go. No headboards on the beds and only 2 chairs on the terrace. We enjoyed the breakfast - wonderful fruit and cakes. Even though we had a very early checkout, a picnic breakfast was provided for us. We ate one evening at Los Poetas restaurant which is attached to the hotel. We enjoyed the food and excellent service, although the menu had too much fish and mushrooms for our personal tastes. The pool area is very relaxing with plenty of sunbeds under awnings. Some of the cushions were stained though. Overall, a lovely hotel and base in the Colchagua Valley.
