Hotel Santa Maria Playa

Bedrooms are very clean, the cleaners do a good job Pool is fine, no trouble with sunbeds The breakfast is good with all the usual options, nice pastries etc For supermarket turn right then left out the lobby and there's a Spar The only issue I had there was no BBC ITV etc. I had checked on TripAdvisor, which said channels were available So check with the hotel before you book

We had purchased our trip at the last minute and we were "lucky" to have found availability at this hotel, but for a really expensive price and not worth it. *Positives* 10 minute max, walking to the beach of Cala Millor. Great location for the beach. The staff at both hotels were friendly. They spoke mostly Spanish, German and English. Close to the bars and tourist shops, a super market, a giant home goods and beach supply store, and over-priced restaurants. The hotel pool is nothing spectacular. You won't feel a resort or even a beachy vibe. Just your basic squarish pool. It did have a really deep end for diving in. You can swim in the pool at the sister hotel around the corner. That pool area was nice and family friendly. A little more beach vibes there. Not a huge pool, but good enough for a bunch of grown ups and kids. The hotels and room were clean. If you have to check out early, but your flight doesn't leave till late, you can store your luggage behind reception then go swimming, come back and shower in the guest shower and be fresh for your trip back home. That was nice. *Negatives* Transfer takes 1,5 hours from Airport Palma to the hotel and vice versa. The sound insulation within the building is nill. We heard Eeeevery single thing from our neighbors on both sides and upstairs. The worst noises were coming from housekeeping, early in the godforsaken mornings, scraping and banging furniture around. Who can sleep through that awful noise? And talk about sleep...we got very restless sleep. Due to the very uncomfortable beds and too fat, or too thin pillows. During our first few days we tried sleeping on the original single mattresses, with the box springs poking us in our backs and dips in the center of the mattress. After a few days of that torture, we asked for different mattresses and kindly enough, the housekeeping exchanged them for us. Unfortunately, those were so hard and stiff, they were also uncomfortable to sleep on. I don't have back problems, but I woke up every single day with major pain in my neck, shoulders and back. As soon as we come back home, I finally got a good night's sleep. The rooms also are *not* equipped with a refrigerator. At least not our room. (400's) I didn't know this upon reservation. So if you want a cold drink, which you most likely will after being in the wonderful heat and sunshine, you must walk outside of the hotel to buy your refreshment, or go to their bars. The food: basic choices for breakfast and dinner. Same same every day. It gets boring after a few days. Not really a good variety in hot food. Vegetarians beware, your choices are bread, salad bar, baked beans, mushy broccoli gratin, dry french fries and ketchup. Oh and something they call soup, but looks like gravy (?) Meat lovers, you get your heavenly pick of surf and turf that has been way overcooked. Enjoy the jaw exercise. I must say though, the restaurant staff are very friendly. Wij zijn in het voorseizoen geweest met 3 personen. (Mei) Kamer was prima, schoon en ruim genoeg. Badkamer ook netjes, douche was in bad. Geen afzuiger in de badkamer, beetje jammer. Kamers zijn inderdaad gehorig, maar wij hebben er niet echt last van gehad. Ontbijt was in Hotel Santa Maria , 3 minuten lopen. Ontbijt was ruim voldoende keus. Personeel was erg vriendelijk. Prijs kwaliteit was erg goed, maar dit was het voorseizoen.

Prima hotel voor wat wij ervan verwachtten. Precies zoals omschreven. Geen animatie, geen "geweldig" zwembad. Maar wat wil je, het strand ligt 150 meter verderop en dan wil ik niet aan welk zwembad dan ook. De boulevard met winkeltjes, restaurants en terassen ligt meteen om de hoek. Dus animatie hebben wij niet nodig. Voor mensen met kleine kinderen misschien hierdoor wat onaantrekkelijker. Het intbijt, waar je dan wel 100 meter voor moet lopen, was prima. Niet chique, maar zeker ook niet te min. Eigenlijk gewoon goed voor de prijs. Doordat we wisten dat de restaurants om de hoek lagen, hebben we geen avondeten geboekt. Kamers waren ruim en schoon, zelfs met 3 was er plek zat. 'S avonds kan je wel de kartbaan horen, maar wij gingen pas laat slapen. Enige minpunt: de airco. Die werkte haast niet. Niet alleen in onze kamer, maar in het hele hotel.

La stanza era spaziosa e molto pulita. Per essere un albergo 3 stelle non c´era nulla da eccepire. I pasti si consumano all´interno della struttura adiacente che dista circa 50 metri. Anche per quanto concerne il ristorante non c´e´molto da dire. L´unica cosa negativa era la confusione. Mi prendevo un tavolo e al ritorno dal buffet lo trovavo gia´occupato da qualcun´altro. E cosi´ogni volta che mi alzavo per prendere il secondo, il dolce o magari qualcosa da bere lo ritrovavo puntualmente occupato. Certe volte ho dovuto cambiare 3 volte tavolo per finire la cena. Una pecca e´stata anche la mancanza di te´biologico. I dolci inoltre erano non consumabili per il palato italiano. Mentre le altre pietanze tutto sommato accettabili.

Bon hôtel, le personnel est très serviable, les chambres sont correctes. La plage est au bout de la rue a même pas 5min a pied . Piscine très bien. A savoir le petit-déjeuner et le dîner se font dans l'hôtel en face " la Santa Maria " mais cela n'est pas vraiment dérangeant. La restauration est correcte mais très variée par contre.

Hotel La Santa Maria Playa si trova in posizione strategica vicino al mare e alla passeggiata principale dello shopping.  Si presenta con un grande salone ,bar e piscina esterna, la Hall con porte e finestre  sempre  aperte senza aria condizionata . Al nostro arrivo abbiamo atteso diversi minuti ,circa 20 ,che qualcuno venisse ad accoglierci ampiamente durante l'orario di check in previsto . La colazione viene servita in un altro Hotel "la Santa Maria "con aria condizionata nei locali comuni a tutta birra che  presumo sia della stessa proprieta' ed è a buffet ed è molto assortita.  È possibile cenare a buffet  carne o pesce  sempre nello stesso Hotel con 12 euro a persona che per questa cifra difficilmente trovi nei vari ristoranti . La stanza abbastanza spaziosa ,  con carta smartline per accedervi .noti dolenti: cassetta di sicurezza non utilizzabile , mancanza frigobar e tv con tutti i canali possibili spagnoli, in maniera esagerata tedeschi ,qualcuno francese o inglese mancanza completa di canali Italiani è dotata di aria condizionata che non può essere lasciata accesa durante la ns assenza per via della carta elettonica  smartline che disabilita l'accensione quando si esce dalla camera . Nel bagno manca un box doccia tradizionale sostituito dalla vasca da bagno con tenda e manca il bidet  e areatore . Fino a tarda notte dal lato ingresso principale si sentono i motori di una pista di kart . Sembra proprio che Cala Millor ci sia una predisposizione Germanica infatti è molto difficile trovare qualcuno tra tutto lo staff dell'albergo che parli Italiano molti neanche l'inglese .
