During our recent stay at the hotel, my expectations were unfortunately not met, largely due to what I found to be significant oversights and, at times, concerning behavior from some members of the hotel staff. As someone who has had the privilege of traveling to over 76 countries and has been a guest at numerous top-tier hotels worldwide, I believe I have a comprehensive understanding of the standards that one should anticipate from establishments that pride themselves on excellence in hospitality. The experiences that stood out during my stay were not in line with these standards. From the onset, the reception was less than warm. While I understand that everyone can have an off day, in the hospitality industry, it's paramount to ensure that guests feel welcomed and valued. Regrettably, this was not the impression I received. Further, there were several operational glitches that marred the experience. For instance, our room service orders were either delayed significantly or mixed up on more than one occasion. Additionally, basic amenities that one would expect to be replenished daily, such as toiletries and towels, were often overlooked. These might seem like minor issues in isolation, but when combined, they paint a picture of a system that is not functioning as seamlessly as it should be. Moreover, during our interactions with the hotel staff, there were instances where their behavior left a lot to be desired. Professionalism, in my opinion, extends beyond just performing one's job duties—it encompasses how one communicates, addresses concerns, and ensures that guests are having the best possible experience. On several occasions, when we raised concerns or made requests, the responses we received were either dismissive or lacked the necessary urgency. This was not only surprising but also disheartening, considering the reputation of the hotel. Furthermore, the general ambiance of the hotel did not resonate with the relaxing and refreshing experience one would expect. Whether it was the noise levels in the common areas, the upkeep of the facilities, or the lack of attention to detail in areas such as dining or leisure activities, the overall feel was that of a place that was not operating at its peak potential. Now, I do not write this review with the intention to disparage but to provide feedback that could be constructive. The foundation of the hospitality industry is built on the experiences and feedback of its patrons. While the physical aesthetics of a hotel play a role in its appeal, it's the intangibles—like service quality, staff behavior, and operational efficiency—that truly define a guest's stay. Given my extensive travels and experiences, I found the current state of affairs at this hotel to be notably different from the premier service I've grown accustomed to at other renowned establishments. Geschäftlich für eine Nacht im Saxon. Anreise mit uber ab Flughafen problemlos, auch wenn die Einfahrt durch die Tiefgarage nicht so schön ist wie die (fast fertig sanierte) Auffahrt. Check-in unproblematisch, Butlerservice sehr nett. Auch nett: Late check-out war am nächsten Tag bis 15:00 möglich - den Rest der Zeit bis zum Abflug noch am Pool verbracht und dann im Fitness Club umgezogen. WIFI flächendeckend, gratis und extrem schnell. Eine Oase.

Ich hatte vor kurzem die Freude, in diesem schönen Hotel zu bleiben und muss sagen, es übersteigt alle meine Erwartungen. Von dem Moment, als ich ankam, war ich beeindruckt von seiner hervorragenden Lage, Top-Notch-Service und allgemeine Gastfreundschaft. Die Lage des Hotels war einfach hervorragend. Es war bequem gelegen, so dass der einfache Zugang zu den nahe gelegenen Attraktionen und Einrichtungen ermöglicht. Ob es die Stadt erkundet oder auf einem Safari-Abenteuer fährt, die zentrale Lage des Hotels machte es eine perfekte Basis für meine Reisen. Die Serviceleistung des Hotelpersonals war wirklich außergewöhnlich. Von der warmen Willkommen bei der Eincheckung bis zur sorgfältigen Hilfe während meines Aufenthalts, fühlte ich mich wirklich umsorgt. Das Personal ging oben und weiter, um sicherzustellen, dass alle meine Bedürfnisse erfüllt wurden, einschließlich einer besonderen Güte, dass ich meine Tasche verlassen konnte, während ich auf dem Safari weg war. Ihre Flexibilität und die Unterkunftsnatur waren sehr geschätzt. Das Hotel selbst war ein Sehenswürdigkeitszentrum. Es exudierte Elegance und Charme, mit seinen schön gestalteten Innenräumen und gut gepflegten Einrichtungen. An amazing property with carefully selected features and decor. Pity about the service. Couldn’t book online and went to make reservation in person. After the friendly and inviting welcome from Koketso at the gate, and Leon who offered welcome drinks and helped with luggage, the rest of the service was mostly lack luster. The waiters in the dining area during breakfast were completely disengaged on both mornings, checkin took 25 mins but with upfront payment checkout is a breeze, and we had to ask if our room had been made because someone started and then seemingly left. We couldn’t find the checkout time anywhere in the room, and when we requested late checkout, no concessions were made even for 30 mins. Owen was very helpful with the Jacuzzi and restored some of the rating in giving here. I would go back for the property, it’s beautiful, but the service standards need some work - I can’t quite explain it, it feels put on, plastic even.

The Leonardo In a class of its own .. We spent four nights at The Leonardo in a two bedroom grand suite. We were pleasantly surprised on arrival to be greeted by warm friendly staff and a beautiful reception area and lounge. The art work throughout the property is stunning and adds to the general feeling of being in a high end establishment. There was initially some mix up with our booking but Penelope was very helpful and made sure that we were able to check in without any delay. After our Moet&Chandon welcome drink we were taken to our well appointed suite which had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The Al La Carte breakfast was very high quality (although slow to arrive at times) and had enough choice for everyone. Presentation was top notch and we left the hotel each morning feeling very satisfied and ready for the days adventures. Overall, this is a gorgeous hotel in an excellent location. It is made even more homely by the attentiveness of the staff who are alway on hand to make sure that no needs go unmet. Special shout out to Penelope, Bobo ( aka The President) Paulina, Tshepo & Ray (Security Door Man Extraordinaire) !! Great team !

Wir waren im Rahmen unserer Südafrikarundreise für zwei Nächte in dem Hotel Sundton Sun in Johannesburg. Das Hotel ist modern und verfügt über rund 20 Stockwerke. Gelegen ist es in einem der besseren Viertel von Johannesburg, nämlich dem Banken-, Geschäfts- und Börsenviertel. Es handelt sich also um ein relativ sicheres Viertel in der größten Stadt Südafrikas. Direkt an das Hotel angeschlossen bzw im selben Komplex befindet sich eine große Einkaufsmall mit dem Nelson Mandela Square. Insoweit handelt es sich um einen sehr sicheren Bereich mit sehr vielen (auch hochpreisigen Designer-) Shops und viel Gastronomie. Wir hatten Zimmer 23 in der 12. Etage. Das Zimmer war sehr groß, komfortabel und großzügig ausgestattet. Verfügt über ein sehr ausreichend dimensioniertes und bequemes Bett. Das Bad war sehr komfortabel und entsprechend groß. Das Zimmer ließ keinerlei Wünsche offen, alles funktionierte einwandfrei. Es gab Frühstücksbuffet, das sehr reichhaltig ausgestattet war. Eierspeisen und Heißgetränke mußten/konnten a la Carte geordert werden. Das Personal war absolut freundlich und immer hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt und können dieses Hotel uneingeschränkt empfehlen.
