Fantastic little Family-run Inn. Cute, small and QUIET!!! This is primarily because the Inn attracts Couples and Solo travelers with OUT kids! Therefore, the property can maintain this wonderful, refined atmosphere. If you are a frequent Traveler as I am, you will know that just about every Hotel every where, has kids crawling all over the place. Noisy, unsupervised, tripping over them everywheres - ruins my trip every time. Such a relief to come here and have some peace and relax!! ALL adults. Rooms clean, quaint, and excellent Cleaning - Housekeeping services as well......Los Padres ROCKS!

At the end of July 2024 we stayed in a room thar was very comfortable and quiet. It looked like it had been recently refurbished and had one of the quietest air conditioners I've ever experienced. We only met one staff member and she was very nice.

Stay far away from this motel! It is not quaint or charming - just a run down, uncared for dump. The walls had cracks and holes in the plaster, bugs in the bathroom, the tub was permanently stained and nasty, and the rug felt dirty. There was a microwave (on the floor ?!) and a small fridge. The walls were really thin, and you can hear everything. Worst part - I got BED BUG bites after staying here --- not worth the cheaper price!!

It's one of the older "motor inns" on Monterey Street. Small check in lobby. Older rooms that could use some paint and maintenance for faucet drips. One bonus - rooms have old but functional microwave ovens and mini fridges. Good location - walking distance to Cal Poly and downtown bars / restaurants. They let me store a small backpack for a few hours after checkout, so I didn't have to drag it around while sightseeing. Hotel prices vary widely in SLO, but this appears to be an affordable mid-week option. Overall, it's a decent place if you're just looking for a room after a day of driving / sightseeing / visiting friends / visiting family. It just doesn't have common areas to hang out.

I stayed in Room #1 right next to the sidewalk/street but was still quiet enough to sleep. An updated new room that was very clean and well lit. Super clean bathroom and great water flow in shower.

Honestly Everything Was Okay Except For The Smell Of Urine In The Room The Whole Time..
I Didnt Notice It Till After I Woke Up From My Nap After I Checked In And It Was Not Worth Mentioning It Because The Response Was As I Thought...The Prior Guests Never Said Anything...I Wasnt To Impressed With Havin To Walk 2 Blocks To 7-11 For Coffee Either...
Being Prejudged By The Staff Wasn't Comfortable Either...Wont Stay There Ever Again...

Rooms needs to be throughly cleaned, lamp shade in room looks like it has a few human stains. Shower door sold old would not stay closed, mold on shower floor, all base boards and walls dirty and need to be repaired and painted. Property grounds are also in need of repairs and cleaning. Such a same this place could be a nice but not in the state it is in. Seems more and more central coast Hotels are in the same state but still charge a lot. Also no Ice machine, no dirty clothes bags, no in room coffee makers, Over all property is in bad shape. Will not stay at this place again it is not “your home away from home” we sure don’t live in the conditions this place is in.

Room is very outdated. Carpet is wearing down to the floor. Chair had 2 cigarette burns as well as very stained. Curtain was filthy and ripped. No room in bathroom for toiletries or to hang a towel. Two light bulbs missing in the light fixture. Beds very uncomfortable as well as the pillows. Paint is peeling, cracks in the wall and ceiling This place definitely needs some TLC..actually lots of TLC. For the money I would not recommend. Room was over $200.

This place is the definition of "rinky dink". The rooms appear to have been converted from something else. Beds were ok, I guess. Not sure if they had mattress pads, or just sheet-on-mattress. Shower was comical - shower head hit somewhere between my belly button and my chin, and the shower was too small to really lean down and get my hair wet.
Location is excellent, good parking, and it was clean enough. I know SLO is expensive, but I'm not sure this was worth $180/night (after taxes and fees). Likely will not stay here again.
