We visited the Barcelo on a family vacation this past week.
PROS: The staff was incredible. Everyone was so friendly and always checking on you to see if you need anything. Very accomodating and helpful.
Location was great. I had never been to Los Cabos and ended up really liking the area. The resort is close enough to town that you can walk if you want (20-30 mins) or take a short cab/uber. The town itself is safe and adorable and has lots of good restaurants and shops, as a tourist town though the prices are definitely higher.
The nightly entertainment was fun. There were a few shows we watched and enjoyed.
CONS: This resort is in need of some repair. The rooms were a decent size but our lights flickered and the hot water in the tap barely got warm, another person in our group had only hot water in her taps. The main pool is very cold and could use some new tiling. The 2 smaller pools were much warmer but the water looked pretty murky, seemed like there may have been a filtration issue.
The food was.. mediocre at best. There were a few things that stood out. The omelette bar in the breakfast buffet was great and the crepe station was a favourite. The lunch and dinner buffets were just not great. I found it difficult at times to find things I wanted to eat. We ate at 2 a la carte restaurants (which you have to book in advance) the Italian and the Mexican, both were ok.
Overall we had a good time but I don't think we'd be back to this specific resort.
