Hotel Planas

I was at this hotel in 2015, had a great experience. Returned this year, an even better one. This hotel fitted my budget and I highly recommend it. Friendly and helpful staff, especially Fina and Christine, and the nice lady in the bar who made me black tea con leche. Muchas gracias to Hotel Planas and the staff for a memorable experience. I'll be back!

Arrived here very late (2am) as our flight was delayed. Walked into a beautiful reception area, very clean and bright. Man at reception was very helpful. Told us about booking slots for our meals. Our room was on the 6th floor. It was perfect. We could look out and see portaventura in the distance and we even got to see the fireworks from our balcony in the night time. Food was grand. The sausages and rashers were nothing like our Irish ones so we didn't like those at breakfast. Eggs, beans, cereals, ham and cheeses, churros and pancakes, pastries and lots of fresh fruits at breakfast. Snacks at pool bar were lovely. Sandwiches (that can be toasted) burgers, chips, wedges, icecreams, salads, fruits etc. we had lunch in the restaurant a few times, this didn't need to be booked in advance. I don't think a lot of people knew that the restaurant was open at lunch as it was always way quieter at lunch time. Dinner was fine for us. We had mussels, seafood paella, steak, roast beef, pork, lamb, chicken curry, chicken hotpot, calamari, salmon, lasagne, cottage pie as well as the usual burgers and chips, chicken nuggets and rice. A range of different desserts as well although the chocolate fountain was a big hit with us!! Lots and lots of choices over our week stay. The pool was fab! Lots of pool noodles for all, lots of loungers, we always found 4 loungers together. We really enjoyed the entertainment. Our 7 year old made some lovely friends and they enjoyed the mini disco in the evenings. Our son (13) played soccer on the grass area with lots of boys and ping pong, they loved it. They were games everyday by the pool darts, archery, water polo etc. some of the night entertainment included a fluro party, where the children got flourescent tattoo's and had an inflatable disco party. We had a magician, Mongolian acrobats, bingo, and a body balance act. We were very impressed. The drinks were fab too. Lots of cocktails, the rum was good, the whiskey was good too. We got the free shuttle to the waterpark which picked us up outside the hotel. The hotel is situated right beside Jaime 1, and only a 5 minute walk to the beach and near shops etc. great location. All in all what a great place to stay. The only thing I found to let it down was the lack of bartenders in the bar during the day. You could be waiting a while for your drinks. And also the wait for the elevators. Everything else I could not fault. Would definitely come back here again

We have just spent 7 nights here, arrived before check in time, room was ready. Great location,opposite the beach clean hotel, towels changed daily and rooms cleaned. All staff were helpful and friendly would stay again. Breakfast basic but we were happy with that. It would be our hotel choice much better than some reviews state. Thank you to all hotel Plants staff we loved it! Good to say it's a 3 star.

Lovely hotel in great location.Very clean and nicely decorated.Friendly staff especially receptionists Christine and Fina who were so nice and helpful.Housekeepers did a good job especially Paola and team.24 hour reception .Lovely pool and dining areas.Good value with buffet breakfast included.Across the road from marina and 2 lovely sandy beaches as well as bus and mini train stops.Shops and restaurants nearby. Bicycle hire onsite .Wellness centre and spa and gym onsite.What more does one need! Thank you Hotel Planas for an enjoyable stay.

Some rooms were spacious and modern and so we're compact and tired. Some staff were happy to help and others looked like they didn't want to be there. Bring a pool towel as there are none available at the Hotel. Breakfast was pretty poor and if you need the lift, good luck. A lift that holds 4-5 people serves the whole hotel. All in all. A decent enough bolt hole for a weekend but definitely not a place where I'd consider for a full holiday. Surrounding shops and amenities are pretty good, especially bars and restaurants but beware of the Supermarkets on the seafront as they tend to charge almost double than the local Michaelangelo supermarket, which can also be found on the seafront. I would definitely return to Salou but not to this particular hotel.

We recently stayed at hotel planas for 3 nights. Good location only a short walk to the beach and shops etc. Arrived at 12pm and we were able to check in straight away which was good, easy enough process. First impressions were clean and well maintained reception. We were on the first floor on the corner by the street, the noise was awful at night and kept us awake. Staff were mostly non friendly and never smiled or spoke apart from the chamber maids and Christine on reception the lady from Ireland who was very friendly and helpful. The staff need a few lessons in customer service I feel. Room was clean and spacious although sound proofing non existent. Breakfast was very basic and very little selection. The restaurant were amongst the most miserable of the lot, surly faces and no one came to you and spoke even to ask for room number etc. Overall all reasonable stay but a few points to note: No towels available to use by the pool so take your own. There is a shower to use before you fly but no towels available so take one from your room. Sunbed supply limited with a few parasols. Ask for a room away from the corner next to the road as its very noisy until the early hours of the morning. Expect a no frills hotel, I guess you get what you pay for.
